2014 TV Premiere Dates: Your Everything Guide to the Summer Schedule

Everyone always makes a big deal about the fall television schedule, but did you know that television still happens in the summer? If you don't believe us, check out our handy-dandy interactive summer schedule, which is loaded with premiere dates for all the new and returning shows airing on broadcast and cable during these warm months. You can sort through the pile by weekday, network, or returning-versus-new status, or you can save yourself the trouble of rummaging for something good by searching for our editors' picks. (And speaking of those editors' picks, don't forget to check out our lists of the 10 new summer shows we're most excited to see and returning shows you should totally catch up on!)

So: What will YOU be watching this summer?

Please give the module a few seconds to load, it's a heavy one!

Editor's Note #1: If you click the "follow" button next to any given show, it will: 1. add that show to your "following" list (which you can access via the dropdown menu in the upper righthand corner of the site, next to your user name), 2. add that show to a personalized listings module on the TV.com homepage, and 3. add you as a member of the corresponding show community (if it exists), which means you'll see posts about the show in your community feed.

Editor's Note #2: Currently, our module only displays shows that have definite premiere dates—that's why you won't find shows like BBC America's Intruders, or HBO's The Newsroom (which is expected air its final season this summer, though we don't know exactly when) in the list above. We DO expect them to debut/return in the near future, but until they're officially on the schedule, they won't appear in the widget.

Editor's Note #3: If you think you've found an error or notice that we've missed a particular series, please (politely!) let us know in the comments.

You're welcome! I'm not sure. Perhaps, PBS isn't as popular as other channels? It does get included in the 'What to Watch Tonight' article, from time to time. Also, there are so many channels out there, now, both on network and on cable, that it may be impossible/too hard to list everything.

Welcome to Sweden is really funny! I have already seen all the episodes and can relate though I also moved to Sweden 11 years ago and have experienced Everything that Greg has in regards to the Culture Clash. I really hope that others that haven't experienced this type of Culture shock will still Think its funny.

"Welcome to Sweden" is basically Lilyhammer, ripped off by Amy Poehler's brother. It may have broader appeal though.

For my money [well actually time] it will be: Penny Dreadful [which I already find fascinating], True Blood [I love this trashy show], Masters of Sex [this is actually an excellent program], Quick Draw [I have no idea why I watch this show, it's kind of terrible but like some gawker at the scene of an accident I just can't look away] & I plan to give The Knick a try... I may also check out Girl Meets World if only for the legacy.

NY Med is indeed a returning show - back for Season 2! Will look into the incorrect classification of Extant; that one is definitely brand-new.

Monday: Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Longmire, Beauty and the Beast, Teen Wolf, Under the Dome
Tuesday: Pretty Little Liars, Perception
Wednesday: Extant, The Bridge (although it kinda sucked)
Thursday: Defiance, Dominion (thank goodness for Syfy for not making TV-Thursday suck so much)
Friday: Crossbones, Hemlock Grove
Saturday: Nothing. TV is usually bad on Saturdays.
Sunday: The Last Ship, Rising Star, Falling Skies, Witches of East End, The Strain

I will try out the first episode of some of the other new shows as well.

Looks like slim pickings to me but

Sunday - Unforgettable (but it needs to get better than S2), and Ray Donovan (only to see the old man get killed). But I'll give The last Ship, The Leftovers, and Manhattan a try
Monday - Longmire and Major Crimes.
Tuesday - Royal Pains, Rizzoli and Isles, Perception, and Covert Affairs
Wednesday - Motive. I'll try Extant, Penn&Teller, and Legends.
Thursday - Rectify and Quick Draw, and then I'll give Dominion a try.
Friday - Orange is the new Black, and I'll try The Knick
Saturday - Only thing to mention is to give Outlander a try.

Just some advice: Keep in mind to give Fringe time. Things are a bit slow in Season 1 but if you're not hooked by 2.15, you definitely will be after the Season 2 finale.

I've seen the pilot. I really liked it. Continuum & Arrow had slow first seasons, and Agents of SHIELD's first half was as well. I stuck with them, now i'm hooked.

Me too. P.S. If you like Continuum - you will love Fringe. But yeah, you definitely need to give it time and since it's a 22 episode season, it requires a bit more patience then Continuums shorter seasons.
But once it hits it's peak, you will (hopefully) be blown away!

Good to know you're a smart and patient viewer. :-) Some people have the patience of a goldfish and quit a show after the pilot because it didn't "blow them away". But the thing is, you have to give a show time to develop. Some of the best shows I've seen have had very average pilots and wobbly first seasons.

I finally watched that one clip for Intruders that shows basically during its Saturday night shows yesterday when I watched last week's In the Flesh. Holy crap, what is that show about? I guess congratulations BBC America, other than being intrigued by Dominion, you really caught my attention.

Kate,
In the flesh gets better and more addictive (Imho) in Season 2 so again stick with it. REALLY hoping there will be a third season.

I was watching In the Flesh at the time that I saw the Intruders commercial which was what intrigued me. In the Flesh better have a third season because after seemingly answering questions at the beginning of the episode, they went all left field on me. I am personally of the thought that Simon was lied to and manipulated by people at Halperin and that conveniently placed guy basically because they were looking for a Patient Zero not a First Risen. But there is something in the actual water of Roarton which made PDS people be able to recover eventually. So, there is nothing particularly special about Kieran and Amy just they are getting better sooner. And Amy's tests that the doctor sent back to Norfolk when she was having issues probably showed she was getting better.

I hate to say this, but I think it is to underplay the American bias "against" the Canadians. In the same way as they do the same on Orphan Black.. They do maintain these when it is absolutely essential to the series as in Ripper Street, or the Murdoch Mysteries, which are purely procedural. But you may think otherwise and I would agree .
