2016 TV Premiere Dates: Your Everything Guide to the Midseason Schedule

Out with the old and in with the new (and returning)! As 2015 comes to a close, it's time to look forward! To set goals! To dream big! To declare a bunch of New Year's Resolutions that we'll ultimately fail to keep! And most importantly, to get excited for the onslaught of new TV! The 2016 midseason is upon us, and between the returning favorites and the good-looking newbie categories, there is a lot of exciting stuff up ahead. To help you plan your viewing schedule accordingly, we've compiled a handy list of midseason premiere dates for your convenience. Bookmark this page now; below, you'll find a filterable guide to all the new and returning TV series that are airing in the next couple months. Premiere dates, airtimes, editors' picks—they're all in there, and we'll continue to update the list in the coming days and weeks as more dates are announced.

Please give the module a few seconds to load, it's a heavy one!

Editor's Note #1: If you click the "follow" button next to any given show, it will: 1. add that show to your "following" list (which you can access via the dropdown menu in the upper righthand corner of the site, next to your user name), 2. add that show to a personalized listings module on the TV.com homepage, and 3. add you as a member of the corresponding show community (if it exists), which means you'll see posts about the show in your community feed.

Editor's Note #2: Currently, our module only displays shows that have definite premiere dates—until a show is officially on the schedule, it won't appear in the widget. So, don't fret because you don't see a premiere date for Person of Interest. It just means the network hasn't set a definitive premiere date yet.

Editor's Note #3: If you think you've found an error or notice that we've missed a particular premiere date, please (politely!) let us know in the comments. Note that we did leave some shows out on purpose, especially if they're only taking two weeks off for Christmas and New Year's.

What will YOU be watching at midseason?

Hey guys, I already wrote this but no one paid my attention, despite the fact that you renewed this list and put more in this list.

Slasher (TV Series), starring Katie McGrath, starts next Friday, March 4th on Chiller with a two hour premiere, 9:00 PM ET. it will air on Fridays. why don't you add this awesome show in this list? Many people don't know about this and I am pretty sure they will be excited if they find it out. It's a Horror Mystery TV show. please add it here! :)

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. March 8 at 9:00 PM on ABC. That will feel like a lifetime :( I want to see Coulson crushed by remorse right now. Yes, Ward was a bad guy but to kill him like he did. I don't know.if that's good for the soul.
Maybe Agent Carter can ease the pain. The first season was wonderful. I hope it isn't like that horrible trailer: Agent Carter Season Two Trailer Fortunately Kaitlin already saw the first two screeners of the new season: tweet Carter
I'm full of hope now. Thanks Kaitlin. And btw I'm green with envy.

You should probably mention spoilers when you talk about the most recent episode of a show. I mean, I saw it, so it didn't spoil it for me, but I would've been miffed if I hadn't... Just sayin'.

The latest episode was 10 days ago. If what you say is true i could pretty much never talk about recent episodes because some people wait until the season is over and then binge watch the whole thing. (some of my friends do but they are not regular visitors of this site) Tomorrow i go to the cinema to watch the new Star Wars film (so excited!) so if i even see the words "Star Wars" on an internet page i immediately close that page. The only thing i do know is that people that did see the movie (in most of Europe it was released two days ago)) are ecstatic. Tomorrow (it's 20.45 PST right now) is also the nation wide release in the US so only a few hours left before the first reviews will start to pop up in US media. I personally think that the movie is going to make more money than Avatar. I already placed some bets ;)

"If what you say is true i could pretty much never talk about recent episodes because some people wait until the season is over and then binge watch the whole thing."

What does binge watching have to do with "the latest episode"? There's only one "latest episode."

"so if i even see the words "Star Wars" on an internet page i immediately close that page."

Except in the comments section of premiere dates there is no indication that there will be spoilers. It's just common courtesy. I didn't say don't post it. Is an extra word too difficult?

Dec 23, 2015
Well, like I said - MY opinion (perhaps I'm explaining it confusingly) is that, if Episode 1 aired and 2 has not yet, then don't spoil episode 1 until 2 airs (ONLY on a thread that isn't a discussion for that show). That's why message boards have threads designated for individual episodes and not a general one.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm not scolding you. It was just constructive criticism.
Flag
Dec 18, 2015
We have different trains of thought. I think i'm the one responsible for getting "spoiled" by watching it (much) later than aired and not the other party. You put the blame on the other party. I on myself. (i blame myself for everything. It's a personality flaw) It was not my intention to spoil anything so i will try to remember it next time. I just assumed that everybody (especially on a site for TV enthusiasts) watched it by now without thinking there could still be people out there that still haven't watched it yet.

So i can't say now (after two years) that in

*** spoilers breaking bad ***

the end of the series Walter White dies because somebody might still planning to watch it sometime in the future?
you can't expect that from people.

Where do you draw the line: a month? a year? never?

Geez, Tuesdays at nine look totally impossible. I still haven't decided. And seriously, I just heard this last night, but what are you doing NBC? You put off Grimm's return until the 29th when it didn't even begin until almost November and if you haven't paid attention, there are time slot competition now. You might have enjoyed watching your Friday night stalwart force the CW into a decision on the Originals (and are you sure Sleepy Hollow is on at 10, that is vaguely helpful, but my Fox doesn't have anything at 10 except local news).

You are correct; Sleepy Hollow will be on at 8pm, per an article from Tim S. on Nov. 10th. I was surprised by the move to Friday, but I like it because this may remove my need to tape The Blacklist. Still a great job by Kaitlin and the staff; it is nice to have all this information in one place.

I had actually thought they were going to be airing it at 9, just because Kitchen Nightmares and/or Junior Kitchen seems to do pretty well for Fox at 8. I appreciate it moving from Thursday too because it got lost to the On Demand shuffle (so that I was accidentally spoiled) and because by Thursday nights I want something mindless and not super angst ridden so I usually watch the Blacklist live.

There seems to be more possibilities than for the Fall season. There also appears to be quite a lot based on books, which I take as a good sign.

The new shows that I'll have a look at are:
Billions
X Files
Lucifer
The Magicians
11/22/63
The Shannara Chronicles
Shadowhunters
Outsiders
Madoff
Colony
Legends of Tomorrow
The Family

The returning ones I'll definitely watch are:
Galavant
Better Call Saul
Agent Carter
The 100
Banshee
Black Sails
