From brothel owner to US vice president--sounds about right.
Powers Boothe, who most recently played the conniving whoremonger Cy Tolliver in HBO's western drama Deadwood, has signed up to star in season six of the Fox action series 24. Boothe will play Noah Daniels, vice president to D.B. Woodside's Wayne Palmer--president and brother of the late David Palmer.
Boothe has appeared as a tough guy in over 40 films, including the 1981 national-guard thriller Southern Comfort, 1984's Cold War-paranoia thriller Red Dawn, and the film adaptation of Frank Miller's comic book Sin City. The actor joins a cast already chock-full of guest-stars, including Harry Lennix, Kal Penn, Peter MacNicol, and Regina King.
The Emmy-winning 24 returns for its sixth season on Sunday, January 14, with a two-night, four-hour season premiere. Yesterday, an online trailer went up at the 24 site.

Boothe is a good actor.
Powers Booth will probably be playing a vice president with a hidden agenda (given his past track record of roles that he has played).
Just when i thought season 6 couldn't get any better, it does. I'm REALLY looking forward to it now.
Sounds good to me, and i'm a HUGE 24 fan.
Cool
i think his best work was playing jim jones in the guyana tradgedy
Sounds very interesting.
Making a great show greater with these kinds of high-quality, experienced actors... that and Deadwood running to an end will give Booth time to look at other projects
Looks like a character from BLEACH,Sasakibe Choutarou...............awesome...
