24: Redemption Video Preview

24's seventh season may not officially begin until January 2009, but Fox is about to treat Bauer-hungry fans to an unprecedented dose of extra awesomeness in the form of 24: Redemption. This two-hour TV movie, which was filmed on location in South Africa and Los Angeles, promises to bridge the gap between seasons six and seven while starting off your Thanksgiving week with a hearty helping of pure adrenaline.

The Totally Intense Scenario:

The first moments of 24: Redemption find the heroic Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) immersed in missionary work at a school in Africa--but this
altruistic pastime is cut short by an urgent international crisis. A merciless
warlord is forcibly drafting young children into the cruel ranks of his private
militia, and Bauer is the only man qualified to stop this atrocity--but back in
America, his expertise is needed as well.

But Wait--It Gets Worse!

As a vulnerable United States prepares to inaugurate its next president (Cherry Jones as Allison Taylor), evil bubbles to the surface in the form of harsh criminal mastermind Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight). This evil man must be prevented from using international politics as his own dark playground, but in order to stop him Bauer must make some of the hardest choices he's ever known.

Hi, this is my first time posting in TV Tome. I just had to react to tonight's episode of 24. While I'm a huge fan of the show and wish it continued success, I must comment on the lack of continuity from last season. Last season seems like a million years ago because of the writers strike. I know the CANON of the show is to broadcast episodes in real time but they should have given some sort of 5 minute back story as to what happened from last season. I do remember Jack rescuing Josh before this oil rig was bombed. I remember Chloe telling her husband she was pregnant. However I don't remember CTU being shut down. I don't recall Jack leaving the country. I don’t know why Jack is being pursed by the feds for torturing someone since he does that every season anyway. Where did all the other characters go? I really hope Joel Surnow doesn’t expect me to buy a video game that fills in the gaps. Is there somewhere free online that can tell me what happened? Thanks

Excellent idea to keep momentum up for what is truly a unique format for tv show. Even when it feels like it's dragging, it's only building up faster. The seventh season will be EPIC. Ever since I heard that the studio had a number of eps in the bag before the WGA strike (12?) and were taking their time to work on making it the best ending to a show ever, I have been biding my time waiting. ... They'll be hard pushed to top the end of Alias though, IMO ;)

This is a great idea. The show's been off the for so long that I totally agree that having something like this will help people get energized for the show's return. I watch "The Amazing Race" at 8 P.M. though, so I'll be putting this on the DVR.
