When not voting on whether to strike or not, members of the Screen Actors Guild are voting on their peers for the annual SAG Awards. The 15th Annual SAG Awards were held on Sunday, and it was a good day to be part of NBC's 30 Rock.
The NBC comedy won every award it was up for, which meant trophies for Tina Fey (best actress in a comedy), Alec Baldwin (best actor in a comedy), and the entire cast (best comedy ensemble cast). Not a bad day for The Girlie Show.
In the drama categories, no one can complain about this year's winners. Hugh Laurie grabbed best actor for House and Sally Field took the ladies' title for Brothers & Sisters. The ensemble cast award went to the employees of the smokin' and drinkin' sexist Sterling Cooper ad agency at the heart of Mad Men.
Heroes' storylines may be in question this season, but there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the stunts on the show. The NBC drama won the stunt ensemble award.
On the film side, Slumdog Millionaire took the ensemble award, and Sean Penn (Milk), Meryl Streep (Doubt), Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight), and Kate Winslet (The Reader) all won awards in their respective categories.
