A New Peek at FX's Justified

Anyone who's ever seen Deadwood has been itching to see actor Timothy Olyphant throw on some spurs and clean up a town again. As Sheriff Seth Bullock, Olyphant brought back images of classic Western characters who weren't afraid to saddle up and take on the bad guys. Unfortunately, he next took those skills to the big screen with Hitman. Ugh.

But—after a great stint on FX's Damages—he's back to enforcing the law in the country, this time on FX's upcoming program Justified (formerly Lawman; thanks for the title change,Steven Seagal!). Olyphant, who I've admired since his role as a pill-dealing character in Go, stars as a modern-day Deputy Marshal who uses old-timey justice to police a town in Kansas. FX has released a new extended trailer for the program, and from the looks of it, I'm on board. What can I say, I'm a fan of people getting shot.

Justified debuts in March on FX.

I'm from Harlan and that isn't it. There's no mountains in the background, a building I recognize, or anyone I know. The "hills" they have in the trailer are nothing compared to what they really are. I know it's fiction but come on. At least film it there and stimulate the local economy and give my home town something back for the liberties that your taking. DON'T smear us like all the other Hollywood and/or documentaries do.

I completely agree on the comment about Go. He was my favorite character from that movie (which was chock-full of awesome characters), and I've enjoyed Olyphant in everything else I've seen him in (even Hitman, *gasp* I know). Can't wait to see this new show.

Uhm, am I missing something? Looks like a cool show, but the blurb above says "Kansas," while the clip showed us a Kentucky setting (along with plenty of "down-south" accents that are definitely not present in Kansas, which has a neutralized accent from being a national "hub" region).

Looks good, in your face, take no prisoners. My kind of show, just hope they let it run long enough to let it get some legs under it. FX is pretty good about that anyway. Let the bullets fly

He was great in "Damages" and this show looks awesome. He's got an Emmy coming for this role. Or at least a nom.

This should be great. The character is from a couple of Elmore Leonard novels. If I remember right, the novels themselves were OK at best, but the character was great. What sparked my memory was the scene at the beginning with the 2 characters sitting down at the table. That was straight out of the novel.
