If NBC's Heroes' goal is to help viewers find their inner strengths and use them for the greater good, ITV's No Heroics will teach fans to use their God-given talents to get laid, show off, and get free cigarettes.
No Heroics is a six-part show on the UK's ITV that just started this past fall, but it has already been seen fit for a U.S. adaptation by ABC. The network has ordered a single-camera pilot based on the UK show, says The Hollywood Reporter.
In No Heroics, a group of semi-heroes kick back together during their downtime--often in a pub--and ponder their worthiness as superheroes…which isn't much. Among the leads are a man who can see 60 seconds into the future and loves hardcore pornography and drugs, a woman who can manipulate machines (for free smokes or cash), and a man who can summon fire, often with disastrous results.
The creator of the original series, Drew Pearce, and Will & Grace writer Jeff Greenstein will pen the script.
Here's the opening for the UK original (warning: one NSFW word at the very end):

No Heroics is a great show in Britain, but I've got no hopes for the US version. Most of the humor is either "too dark" for the american market or relies on sexual innuendo which certainly will never make it past the censors.
If you've got the choice, go for the british original! It's funny, rude and bloody brilliant!
that little teaser video was hilarious! hopefully this adaptation will actually be good..
Sounds a lot like "The Tick" live action that was done in 2001.
Give me a break.Have you ever heard of the inferior five? Probaby not since it was an American comic in the 60's.This is exactly how those guys were and so many characters have been done just like them over the years.Kevin Smith's characters in Mall Rats were the same too.It is a rip off of many many shows in the past so Bugger Off people. It stil might be funny but don't think it as kind of original show.US version of Doctor Who??? That was stil Bristish Version..HAHA you hating on it just because you think it was American Version. Most of you guys BIGOTRY shows right through. HAHA BIGOTS
Lol. I'd never heard of this show, must hit up ITV2.
I'll watch the original. I don't like US remakes
abc doesnt do well with comedies...they should just give up
I dont see this show as one that's gonna be taken seriously on a network like ABC. It's gonna fail as far as I can percieve it!
Lol. Looks great. I'd watch the UK version too. I don't usually like remakes.
i'd rather watch the original. it looks really good.
Think I'd rather watch the UK version.
The UK show is good, some of the episodes and situations were really funny. It has potential to become a great show. An American remake however would have to make so many changes to the format that I don't think it would work well. In particular the main setting in the Pub (British past-time) would most likely get adapted to a Cafe or something. The Humour will most likely get toned down as well with all the lude comments and swearing. Id consider it if HBO or Showtime had picked it up.
This show is great in the UK but it think its going to be another Kath and Kim
Just because one nation finds it funny doesnt mean another will fall head over heels for it too...
americans just dont get british humour (God only knows why!!) but did you see how badly Little Brittain USA performed. The UK fits about 500 within the states and more english saw it on tv than Yanks
Dont 'F' up this show coz its a good one!!

Yaaay for the remake !
Just watch the original. It will be far better than any remake.
Does sound kind of fun although I think I saw a movie like this with Michael Rappaport recently. It was kind of about a crazy person who thought he was a superhero. The Brits have had some good success lately -- I'd probably give this one a shot.
I'd rather see a real super-hero show. Can we have a Justice League show please?
No Heroics is about as close to a ripoff of Heroes as Red Dwarf was of Star Trek... Not at all! No Heroics is one of the funniest shows I have seen in a long time. It's about the geeks and rejects in the superhero world. They mostly sit around at their superhero-only bar and complain about stuff. Think "The Tick" with sex and swearing.
jxsilicon9, Heroes is hardly original, being a show about superheroes. Ever heard of comic books? Secondly, it's a comedy, so it's hardly taking its cue from Heroes. It's a very funny show, and I wonder why they just don't bring the damn thing to the US instead of remaking it.
Okay first of all it sounds like a Heroes ripoff. So ABC is ripping off a ripoff off. How about ABC stop canceling good, original shows for crap like this?
Agree 100% with thesiteofcia; no offence America (or American networks rather) but you don't get the humour! No Heroics was great -- I want a second season!
America seems to think if Britain has a great idea for a TV show they can just copy it and made a US version. Most of the time, the US versions tend to be crappy and the UK versions much better. Just take Doctor Who for example. I mean, did anyone even know there was a US version of it? No. Because it was so horrible it got canceled immediately. We need to start coming up with our own ideas, not copying other countries'. And yes, the British No Heroics is very funny, but I doubt any adaptation that comes from it will be.
i agree! the little i have seen of the ITV version looked pretty good!
This would only work on Showtime or HBO. ABC will get ride of all of the sex, violence, drugs and swearing... I love the original. Why not just rebroadcast it here?
