ABC Family Renews Melissa & Joey for Season 4, But There's Still No Word on Bunheads

ABC Family has asked for a whole lot more of Melissa & Joey, tacking on extra episodes to the about-to-debut third season, and placing an early order for Season 4. The third and fourth seasons will each consist of 20 episodes, and the move will bring the series up to a total of 100 episodes by the conclusion of its fourth season. However, everywhere I've looked online I only see it getting to 85 episodes; where is the Melissa & Joey wiki when I need one?

Melissa & Joey stars Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, which should give you an indication about what kind of show this is. Hart plays a local politician raising a teenage daughter, and Lawrence plays her male nanny. Hey, why not?

This is a perfect time to remind you that while ABC Family has ordered a ton of Melissa & Joey, it still has not made a decision on the very watchable Bunheads, the future of which does not look good. That should put you in a great mood for the rest of the day!

I love Melissa & Joey as its The best on-air show currently! The Mel-Joe banter is priceless and Lennox, Ryder are great as always. Sterling Knight has been exceptional in this season as Zander Carlson. Make him a permanent character in the next season, its a sincere request. to the producers and ABCFamily. Looking forward to season 4. Thanks for making us laugh all through your successful run!
Cheers

I love the show! I would like to see season 4 pick up with a new thread though. Please blow Austin off and start a frezh with Mel and Joe as couple...they have courted for three years! Havethe close intimate wedding let the kids go to college and let's finally see what hilarity comes from the two of them having a baby and figuring out the logistics of maybe twins perhaps. Have the whose the boss turn into Ricky and Lucy.

Love this show! I loved bun heads too! I also loved make it break it. I'm seriously thinking about not watching new shows on abc or abc family anymore. Everytime I really like one they cancel it. Ticks me off! Quit bringing out so much new stuff until the other ones have been on a while and you can end it good!!!!!

I've actually been watching Melissa & Joey back to back on Netflix for the past few days! I was a fan of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and feel MJH can do no wrong and add Joey "Whoa" Lawrence and it's the nostalgia wagon all they way! Love this cute show:-)

Okay Gang – The TV season is officially over for a while and the articles’ are a bit weak – good, but weak. So, as one of the big TV buffs on here, along with Fringe Fanatic, Vicky8675309, Grumpyclown, JT Kirk, Taccado, and quite a few others, I’m going to post my picks for the top ten shows for this century, so far.

Hopefully one of the staffers will pick up the ball and post an official article – TIM! I must note that my favorites may not coincide with yours and I don’t watch Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood and a few very popular others, so they won’t be on my list. But I do acknowledge these shows as legitimate favorites because many of you very bright people seem to love them. So here goes nothin’:

1. Fringe
2. Human Target
3. Bunheads
4. Sherlock
5. Person of Interest
6. Dexter
7. The Big Bang Theory
8. The Good Wife
9. The Newsroom – flawed, but still great.
10. Beauty and the Beast – just kidding – Orphan Black for reals

I haven’t seen enough of Rectify so I can’t say for sure, but I suspect that one might be a winner, too. Note, my top two, and possibly 3 have been cancelled prematurely but are still my faves…

Melissa Joan Hart is not the greatest looking lass or the best comedian but she is very easily to watch, her show is not that brilliant but is fun to pass time with.

I am happy about Melissa and Joey cause even thought is not the best or even funniest show on tv, it's still very enjoyable and fun to watch. ABCfamily should renew Bunheads cause the show is indeed very watchable. Also, does anyone know if Switched at birth is renewed? Cause the last season was just great!

I don't know if it's right, but their wikipedia says they added 20 additional episodes to season 3's already 16 episode season. So that plus the 20 episode fourth season would bring the show to 101 episodes.

I'm glad! Both Mel and Joe and Baby Daddy are steady good and watchable, maybe not as gracious as Bunheads but still, I get why ABCF made the move so early for these two. Bunheads is more risky but we all know the uncertain ones are the shows worth watching, so let's just hope for the best!

It looks like a "classic" sitcom (in other words "old") but the chemistry between melissa and joey it's enough to make the show watchable, at least for people like me (older than 30,that is) i don't know if younger people really enjoy this kind of shows anymore, it really feels old.

I'm glad for it. Its a good show in terms of quality it deserves the 3rd season back order. I. May have waited to renew for the fourth season until I saw the ratings but they must believe a possible syndication deal is worth it.

I'm assuming that Season 3 will be 35 episodes with the backorder being 20 episodes and season 4 being 20 episodes it will reach 100. I doubt ABC Family gave it only 5 note episodes for season 3, as it already consists of 15.

MY GOD, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?

To be fair, I think Bunheads and the Lying Game are midseason, which could be why they haven't ordered them yet. Then again, if they were going to come out during midseason they need to start shooting pretty soon.

They had to negotiate contract extension holds with the cast, so it's not just a midseason thing. They are trying to see if their new summer shows are flops and they will need one of them to take the spot. Otherwise, I'm guessing they are both canceled.

Whoo Hoo!!!
I am so glad to see my second in line high laughter sitcom of Melissa & Joey get renewed for Season 4...

Melissa & Joey is like The Big Bang Theory for the Summer.
Which that one is my first in line high laughter sitcom...
Between Melissa & Joey and The Big Bang Theory, are the only 2 sitcoms can make me laugh the most. On top of that there... I am still laughing when the episodes ends afterwards.

How can you compare TBBT to any other comedy show, even lesser this one.Come on, it's like comparing diamonds to carbon.I'm glad both make you laugh, but please let's remain on this planet.

Wow!
How can you say The Big Bang Theory isn't compareble to other sitcoms on airwaves broadcast? It's not it's non-compareble to be front similar to another sitcoms like their kind of theme and sylte...

And
The Big Bang Theory & Melissa & Joey is quite compareble on similar levels with kind of theme & sylte...

- 1 - The big names stars casting...
Such as:
- Johnny Galecki & Kaley Cuoco
- Melissa Joan Hart & Joey Lawernce

- 2 - The 2 shows appears the main characters working into work place or business

- 3 - The 2 shows appears the main characters dating around trying find special someone

- 4 - The 2 shows appears jokes & insults against one another character

- 5 - Our 2 main characters from Blossom sitcom, are into 2 other sitcoms shows
- Joey Lawernce played Joey Russo - Is now Joe Langdo in Melissa & Joey
- Mayim Bialik playing Blossom Russo - Is now Amy Farrah on The Big Bang Theory

- 6 - Both co-stars/characters of Kaley Cuoco as Penny and Melissa Joan Hart as Mel
Both of their characters are like sacred or faired, seeing the real truth getting into a relationship...
- Penny with Leonard
- Mel with Joe

Well,
At least i didn't compare The Big Bang Theory to Last Man Standing, Anger Manangement and Men at Work....

But Melissa & Joey & The Big Bang Theory are very much compareble to each other on similar grounds...

Totally agree with you! I find it quite funny, along with "TBBT", The Exes, Hot in Cleveland, Mike & Molly and 2 Broke girls. I don't mind Bunheads, not keen on Arrested Development, hate Last Man Standing and Men at Work.

No, i am going to walk away slowly...
Because on your very passion...

Listen,
Stop making it seem like The Big Bang Theory is non-compareble and it can't have similars just like it...
The Big Bang Theory may be beat 2 Broke Girls and Two and Half Men... But even they're similar like to it at play...

And The Big Bang Theory isn't the first program with this type theme and sylte into sitcom history at all.
Remember Cheers, Seinfeld, Mad About You, Friends, The Drew Carey Show, Boy Meets World after first 2 seasons and Sabrina the Teenage Witch after first 4 seasons.

Melissa & Joey beats Men at Work, Anger Menagement and even Last Man Standing... But it is similar to The Big Bang Theory on many levels.

They didn't make Melissa & Joey all family tree like at all really. They made it as mixture between couples and family... Just like they did with the Friends sitcom. If Melissa & Joey is like that and coming off being similar to Friends?
It's also just like and similar to The Big Bang Theory also.
And mostly at terms it's Melissa & Joey show more than 2 kids on their characters. They're shown being dates home then the other...

"That's like saying dancing is biased against the larger ladies, therefore it shouldn't be allowed in public. Actually one of the main characters is too big to be in ballet, and its a frequently brought up issue." -probably an issue brought up by the thin chicks in pointy shoes :-)

"Hart plays a local politician raising a teenage daughter"
Uh, well actually she's not her daughter, she's her niece, and Mel's raising her nephew as well. Now I know you guys are upset about the whole Bunheads-not-yet-being-renewed-oh-please-don't-let-it-die, I am as well, but try to keep at least the basics straight....

melissa and joey cannot live while bunheads and the lying game die. i love melissa joan hart and joey lawrence but their show is so meaningless, it;s like a sarah jessica parker movie, it;s about nothing. and the nothing goes nowhere. but bunheads is awesome and sutton foster is lovely and each of the bunheads have something else that contributes to the show. and the lying game may be a little convaluted and confusing but the actors are believable at playing characters that are for the most part likable and if pretty little liars have survived this long and is getting a freaking spinoff, then the lying game should too! and so should bunheads!!!!

I love Bunheads, just order another season already!!! I really hope Ginny doesn't get pregnant or something when it comes back because they already did that it Make it or Break it and a really good character had to leave. I love the dancing and the fast talk, I missed out on Gilmore Girls so don't take this away from me.
- Also I love Orphan Black and Bunheads, I guess I'm joining you on the other half KateSullivan.

I'll do this because I am vaguely conspiracy minded...I will post and encourage all my fellow Orphan Black commentators (who I realize half of whom wouldn't watch) to just post here about both Bunheads and the Lying Game. I will assume I don't need to say more about Bunheads, but the Lying Game was actually better than Pretty Little Liars last time they were running together.
