ABC has announced its fall premiere schedule, which is good news for those adding
appointments into their calendars for
There will be many returning shows, as well as several new shows that have been receiving
a healthy amount of buzz. For the fall launch, ABC hopes its strong roster of existing
hits will help its newer series.
The returning Wife Swap is first out of the gate, premiering Monday, September 12 at 8:00pm EDT. If you haven't gotten to know Wife Swap, give it a chance. It's a hilarious, juicy, red-state-versus-blue-state dramedy, and it's much classier than the Fox competitor, Trading Spouses.
Up next, on Tuesday, September 20 at 8:00pm EDT, According to Jim returns. It's an hour-long show, because 30 minutes can't contain so much hilarity. The next day, Wednesday, September 21 9:00-10:00pm EDT, is the eagerly anticipated return of Lost, in it's new time slot. Will viewers find out what's in the hatch? C'mon! Of course not. Stay tuned after that, at 10:00pm, for the alien drama Invasion. It's about...well...you can guess.
Friday, September 23 is the return of Jo Frost, aka Supernanny, who will be dispensing parenting advice at 8:00pm EDT, followed by the one-hour season premiere of Hope and Faith at 9:00pm. Again, there's just too much funny for just a half hour.
On Sunday, September 25, some big guns are rolling out of the armory. At 7:00pm EDT it's the much-needed two-hour season premiere of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with host Ty Pennington, followed at 9:00pm by the premiere of Desperate Housewives. Then at 10:00pm, viewers will be treated to the return of last year's surprise hit, Grey's Anatomy.
Wednesday, September 28, at 8:00pm, it's a full hour of laughs with the one-hour premiere of George Lopez. The night after that, Thursday, September 29, witnesses the return of the Jennifer Garner spy thriller Alias at 8:00pm, followed by the premiere of the reimagined '70s horror show Night Stalker at 10:00pm.
Sunday, October 2 at 7:00pm brings us America's Funniest Home Videos. Then, Tuesday, October 4 at 8:30pm, it's the premiere of the family comedy Rodney. Wednesday, October 5 at 8:30pm, it's Freddie, which is loosely based on the life of comedian Freddie Prinze. Finally, Friday, October 7 at 9:30pm, it's the real estate comedy Hot Properties.
Which ones will be breakouts? Which ones will break down? Most importantly, can anyone take two hours of Ty Pennington?
