ABC Is Telling True Lies

... Well that didn't take long. Just a few days after it was revealed that James Cameron was pitching a TV version of True Lies to networks, his search for a home is over. ABC will tackle the show, which could be ready to go as soon as next fall. [THR]

... Community is no stranger to concept episodes, but next season's Christmas segment is ambitious even for wacky creator Dan Harmon. Harmon has confirmed it will be stop-motion animation, like the holiday classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. "We're doing stuff that you shouldn't be allowed to do in an entire season," said Harmon. Keep it up, brother! [TV Guide]

... Peter Coyote (you'll remember him as the president on FlashForward) has joined Law & Order: Los Angeles. He'll play the district attorney and boss to characters played by the already cast Alfred Molina and Terrence Howard. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Spartacus actor Andy Whitfield won't be able to return to the Starz show, as his cancer has returned. He previously thought he was in remission and that he'd be okay for Season 2, but doctors have now recommended that he step down and focus on his health. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Showtime is nearing a deal for a new thriller from 24 producers Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. Homeland sounds pretty good; it's based on the Israeli show Prisoners of War and follows a POW who returns home after 10 years. Here's the catch: It's unclear whether he was actually being held prisoner or is now working for the bad guys. [The Live Feed]

... OMG OMG OMG! Joe Jonas is going to be on 90210! Squeeeeeeeeeee! [EW]

... Syfy is developing a show based on the Metadocs comic books. The drama follows doctors who work on patients with "extraordinary abilities," i.e., superpowers. [Syfy via press release]

... ABC is developing a set-in-the-'60s drama about the employees of now defunct Pan Am Airlines. Wake me up when this sounds good. [Variety]

Isn't the Undercovers show on NBC kind of like True Lies in a way? At least, that's how it would have been if the movie were continued because at the end, the couple goes and works together for the government.

Hope Andy is doing well. Sad to hear his cancer is back. A series based on the movie True Lies could definitely work. I love the movie and as long as it has a good writer, I'd watch. I'm excited about Everything SyFy does these days!

This sounds like a bad idea.

If True Lies picks up from the end of the movie (as in a family affair) then it might work, as long as they don't get too campy. Looking forward to more Community. I'm really hoping L&O:LA turns out to be a good show. I've never seen Spartacus, but I wish Andy Whittfield the best in his fight. The Jonas blurb made me laugh.

Anything with superpowers is worth a look.

Pan Am series....really?

The Spartacus news is terrible. Spartacus was an incredible show and I doubt they will even be able to have a second season now. Good Luck Andy.
