ABC picks end to Lost's season, others

It's time to get out your red pen and mark your calendars, because ABC has announced the finale dates of its lineup, including the season finales of Lost and Grey's Anatomy, and possibly the series finales of Scrubs and… According to Jim.

The first days to get the red ink should be May 13 and May 14--make sure you keep those days open and reserve the couch in your livingroom. Lost will end its fifth season with a two-hour finale on May 13 and Grey's Anatomy will also wrap up its fifth cycle on May 14. Both should feature some major shockers; the rumors I'm hearing about the Lost character getting killed off this season even shock me, and Grey's has to decide what to do with Izzy/Katherine.

For Scrubs fans, May 6 will be a somber trip to the television morgue. Most of the principal cast is calling this season their last (Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Judy Reyes, creator Bill Lawrence), and most believe that means the end of Scrubs. Looks like one and done on ABC for the hospital comedy.

On the other end of the spectrum, May 5 means the end of a series that I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief over. According to Jim wraps up its eighth and likely final season, but given the way this series has repeatedly cheated death, I'm waiting for the dirt to pile on the coffin until I celebrate. This show is like Jason Vorhees--you think it's dead, but it always comes back to haunt you.

Ugly Betty returns from its abrupt break on May 7, and will end its season on May 21. The Bachelorette will also kick off its latest cycle on May 18… what surprises will producers have for us this time?

Nowhere to be seen on the schedule are the final episodes of Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money, which likely means they'll pop up sometime this summer.

The complete schedule of ABC's finale dates is below (all times ET):

I hate it when people put down According to Jim. When the show does go, it's going to disappoint the show's vast legion of fans... although I'm first to admit it should not have returned without Kimberly williams Paisley or her on-air doctor husband!

This season is NOT the last season of LOST! Next season will be LOST's 6th season and that will be the last season! This finale is a SEASON Finale not a series finale but around that time next year, it will be the series finale which makes me sad!

It's obvious just like Friends wanted to seek their movie career Scrubs stars want to do the same or maybe they gave everything they have to the show and there isn't anything thing else to give :X

Curses again! I love Scrubs, it was good enough to switch networks, why cancel now, I guess the cast is looking for more of a challenge or something.

According to Jim isn't that bad... it's a shame it lost popularity so quickly. I'll be glad to see Scrubs go, the comedy there doesn't really come from anything, it's a bit silly. Particularly Zach Braff.

I hate to see Scrubs go, but if the cast is leaving Id rather it stop than get brought back with a new cast.

i so hope scrubs can get one more season... just for the curiosity factor alone of whether or not it could go on without the main cast.

hrgaffney you will be able to donload them from the uk channel as they will be airing in april sometime, maybe even end of march. Im excited to see them....not as excited to hear of a full season pick up but then again you win some you lose some (still P!ss3d tho). Im glad ABC isnt going to prolong its 2009 finales... i hope the 09/10 season will be impressive (anyone looking forward to Eastwick!?)

I don't see why everyone picks on According to Jim, I think its funny where as Scrubs is the most stupid show on the air that reminds me of another show I couldn't stand "Ally McBeal".
