JJ Abrams, the cocreator of ABC's hit series Lost, told SciFi.com that the finale for the show's second season, which airs on May 24, will be the one of the greatest finales in TV history.
Abrams has been away from the show directing the new Tom Cruise action picture Mission: Impossible III. He says that while he was away, cocreator Damon Lindelof fashioned a Lost ending that surprised and excited him.
"The ending of this year in Lost blows the ending of last season out of the water," he said.
In the Lost first-season finale, the castaways were finally able to open the hatch they had found half buried in the ground. They discovered an undergound facility that housed food, weapons, an enigmatic 16mm film, and a mysterious countdown that had to be reset every 100 minutes or else...something bad might happen (viewers have yet to find out what, as the castaways man shifts to reset it).
Abrams hints that in the new finale, questions are answered and loose ends tied up.
"It's an incredible finale. You'll see what happens, but I can tell you that a lot of it has been there and been building from the beginning of this season. It's not out of the blue, but what happens at the very end of this year, for me, it's the greatest finale I have ever heard."
Last week on Lost, previously stalwart character Michael killed two of the main characters. The episode also featured the kick-off of "The Lost Experience," a massive game featuring online and TV elements. In the upcoming weeks, viewers will find out what happened to Michael while he was gone trying to rescue his sone Walt, and Jack and Sayid discover something offshore that leads them to believe they can fight back against The Others.
If Abrams is right, Comic Book Guy on the The Simpsons might say, "Best. Finale. Ever."

Libby took 4 shots to the gut. If she's not dead she will be soon. At least one of those bullets had to penetrate some kind of organ. As much as I want to see a Libby back story, I would find it unrealistic and disapointing if she survived. Maybe through a Hurley flashback we can come to find out about Libby.

Due to the fact that Christian Shepard chose the name Sara for Ana Lucia, we discover in a flashback that the man Sara left Jack for was none other than his own father. Why not? He obviously has now been known to have affairs. Most recently in Australia.<br />

Jack's unbeknownst sister turns out to be Claire. The woman Christain confronted could've been a roomate or an older sister to Claire. This provides the writers with more Claire backstory. In flashback we can learn the whole story of Claire's estranged relationship with her father.<br />

Plus the series finale for season 1 wasn't really much of a finale or a cliffhanger... So I hope it will be something that will really make you wish the 3rd series started the next week.

hello i'm not living in usa and i download episodes on bit torrent. I always download them when they're shown in the states, the weird thing is that it's tuesday here in Europe, and I'm downloading Lost season 2 episode 21 !!! Isn't that cool? But bad thing is that it says that the file will be send in 1 day and 22 hours.
Can't wait for this episode. Over here in Malaysia the season 2 started late and the episode we have already watched was the one when Jack, Locke and Sawyer came face to face with the others while looking for Michael and Kate getting caught by the others.

I was personally blown away at just last week's episode of Michael 'turning bad'. So if the season finale is even bigger, well ... I'm on the edge of my seat and waiting eagerly for it.

Well i must say the fact desmond is involved only makes me more eager to see it! at the same time if there is a huge cliffhangers i cudnt bear waiting however long for the 3rd season :|
