According to Leela, Futurama Has Been Renewed

... Actress Katey Sagal (Peg Bundy, Gemma Teller, John Locke's squeeze) has said that Futurama, for which she provides the voice of Leela, has been renewed for an eighth season by Comedy Central. However, nothing official has been announced, so don't go spouting, "Good news everyone!" all over the place. Futurama's seventh season is scheduled to air this summer. [Vulture]

... Dawson's Diaries and Vampire Creek head honcho Kevin Williamson is working on The CW's Secret Circle, about a teenager who discovers she's a witch. It's based on the books by L.J. Smith, who also wrote the Vampire Diaries books. With Williamson on the project, it means his work on his other project, about people who investigate paranormal happenings, is on hold. ... Comedy Central has ordered a pilot for Playing with Guns, with Danny Masterson (That '70s Show's Hyde) and Ethan Suplee (My Name is Earl) on board to star. The comedy follows a pair of BFFs who become suburban cops in order to avoid real work. And also to play with guns. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Everybody Loves Raymond executive producer Tucker Cawley, or as I like to call him, the creator of ABC's Hank, is back with another project at CBS. The network has ordered a pilot for The Assistants, about four young personal assistants to celebrities. [Deadline Hollywood]

... In "Not sure if want" news: MTV is bringing back Beavis and Butt-head this summer. The cynic in me wants to say this is a bad idea, as does the realist in me, the logical thinker in me, and the homicidal psychopath in me. [MTV]
