Adam Lambert's AMAs Performance: Yikes

...Popular '70s British sci-fi show UFO is getting the big-screen movie treatment, and a burgeoning sci-fi actor will play the lead. Fringe's Joshua Jackson will play the test pilot who joins S.H.A.D.O., a secret government agency that works under a movie studio and defends Earthlings from bad aliens. That's a long way from Capeside. [Variety]

...Popular freshman series Cougar Town has indefinitely halted prodcution while its star Courteney Cox deals with "a private family matter." Luckily they have three episodes already in the can, so hopefully Cox's absence won't affect the run of the show. "Private family matter" sounds rather grim, though. We hope it's more like "Cousin Ricky found some buried treasure," and not a death or something. [THR]

...Though slightly underwhelming in the whole creative department, last week's season six Project Runway finale, the end of its first go-around on Lifetime, fared pretty well in the ratings. Well, OK, it was still down 11% from the most recent Runway season-ender, but its 4.2 million viewers gave it the highest numbers of this year's run. We're not sure that Lifetime piggybacking this mild disappointment with another season beginning so soon in January is a terribly good strategy, but the network payed a bundle and suffered a lot of grief to get this dang show, so we guess they're trying to wring it for all its worth. Trouble is, it might not be worth that much anymore. [Variety]

...American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert epically embarrassed himself last night at the American Music Awards, with a big professional-debut performance that was way overly-sexual in the way drama kids in college thought they were being daring with risque performances during a Friday-night cabaret thing in the black box theater, but really it was just awkward and you wanted to go home the whole time. Only those kids were just dumb college kids, not supposed professionals with record contracts. So. [EW]

...Now that's she's retiring from her show, old lady Oprah is cutting loose and getting sexy. Specifically, she's producing a new HBO series about a woman who just up and lives her cushy life one day to explore the dirty corners of LA's seedy underground sex scene. Gayle King will be playing the lead. Kidding! It's actually going to be Stedman. [Variety]

...While ey'body's watching the supposed apocalypse loom on Supernatural, their big question is this: Is God ever going to step in and deliver the Winchesties to safety? Well, the answer is: "No comment." Sounds promising! [E!]

Lambert's performance may not have been to everyone's liking (personally, I'm not a fan,) but you can hardly liken it to a college cabaret. CBS proved beyond a doubt that he had made a point when they blurred the kiss... Then showed the Madonna/Britney one just seconds later.

Cougar Town is actually one of my guilty pleasures in the vein of "I expected nothing and actually got some decent laughs"... However, we can already seing some recurring themes getting old, so we'll see... SF Revivals are doing pretty well so I'm all for UFO.

I think the writers will allow God to help the Winchesters eventually. Maybe as a series finale.

Agreed if your going to cancel a great show like Eastwick, then Cougar Town definitely needs to fall.

Just cancel Cougar Town already. Has to be the most stupidest show ever.

Courtney has a family matter? Well, if Patricia's Arquette hasn't taken time off from Medium at least we know Courtney's family in law is safe... Hopefully everything is ok.
