AHS: Freak Show Reveals Its First Scary-Ass Clown in One of Three New Teasers (VIDEO)

There are few things scarier than clowns. One of them: Ryan Murphy's interpretation of clowns.

In one of three new teasers for American Horror Story: Freak Show, a fang-toothed clown practically devours the camera. The other two clips feature an equally nightmare-inducing grinning gentleman and a dude with a penchant for swallowing swords.

As long as you're prepared to go to sleep with the lights on this evening, go ahead and check 'em out below:

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres Wednesday, October 8 at 10pm on FX.

I think bout the serial killer who dressed up as a clown on the side to entertain kids but people never really knew his other side. I forget his name now. Very unnerving.

I think you're referring to John Wayne Gacy aka Pogo the clown, who was arrested for sexually assaulting and killing more then 35 young men in the Chigago area, in the 70's

Tbh I actually think this season has much potential. Question is: What will Ryan Murphy do with it?!

No matter how good or bad this season will turn out, I'm mostly excited about Jessica Lange's new character role!

Again. Are you willingly misleading us? Why don't you warn your readers with a warning first, you just have to write before the bloody exclusive videos something like "The following videos are exclusive for USA territory as *tv company name* said so, and they also desires and wish you all over the world to take *insert middle finger up*, :)". That would at least calm our hopes a bit down in expectation.

I remember a number of months ago reading a post from the staff about their embedded videos...I don't remember the exact wording but I remember the essence of it. In a nutshell, since TV.com is an american site, the videos they post are somehow legally obligated to be regional. I trust that if the staff were able to have free reign w/o a corporate mandate, They'd be more than happy to post open region videos...However, since that's not the case, it's best to just either wait until an open region video is reposted by someone within the thread, or simply go straight to youtube & type in the video yourself

I know it would be better to not have to deal w/ that kind of thing, but honestly, the fault doesn't lie with the staff that posts the videos, but with the suits that dictate the rules the staff is allowed to post by

it's better to complain about/to them dirsectly if you're compelled to complain about it at all

The first season was awesome! I didn't even get 2 episodes into Season 2. I watched all of Season 3 but wasn't that impressed. I have my doubts this season will grab me. Some shows just start out strong and then fizzle quickly (Heroes, anyone?).

I really wish when uploading videos they would be sure to use clips that can be seen in Canada as well. I miss half the shit on here just because I'm a Canadian. It's shit!

Why is there a clown in it? It is called "Freak Show" not "Circus".

And I am so sick of the scary clown image. Do they even show a non-horror related clown in media anymore?

yes he is rather creepy, hangs out with questionable creatures, offers food and "magic to young kids" and from what I recall usually found a kid that was alone with no adult in sight...

if they tone down the ridiculous girly drama and focus more on the horror, this season might actually be good.

I love this show so much, but I don't like clowns at all. So I might skip this season whle its on-air, but watch when it ends

It should really be called American Horror Teasers not so much story. Because really the only thing even remotely (and this is on a high angled sliding scale) scary is their teasers. And they are more creepy than scary.

I agree. I might not even bother with this season. This season just seems like it's going to be more off the rails than usual. It will be Ryan Murphy at his most Ryan Murphy.

You know, I never thought this was a good show, just an occasionally entertaining one. Objectively, I think every season has been pretty bad. The teasers and opening credits are much more creative than the actual show.

I will see if it is going to be the usual. If it is, then why bother. I think Murphy stumbled into Lily Rabe and the character of Sister Mary Eunice/Demon Devil and had a couple of great episodes in Season 2, but then wrapped up really only the mommy issues story as per usual. But last season was awful, as much crap as I given season 1, at least that season had some continuity. Season three had zero continuity, horrible story lines and just ended up being music video of an aging rock star and a fashion show and that was it. Season 1 he flubbed the ending but season 3 he flubbed the whole thing.

Whenever scary clowns come up, I'm always compelled to say that I'm convinced that there are more people out there who only claim to be afraid of clowns simply because it's popular to say you're afraid of clowns, than there are people who are truly afraid of clowns. Most just parrot it for so long that they only convince themselves over time that the fear is anything more than self-fullfilling

Ever since Stephen King's IT clowns creep me out, and I really hate them. But I must admit you do kinda have a point - It's not a debilitating fear.

I used to be deathly afraid of clowns as a kid. I've mostly worked through it now, though seeing a clown still makes my heart race and I get really warm but its not as bad as when I was like 7 or 8.

When I see a clown, my heart races and I get a funny feeling in my tummy - but not out of fear :-)

Agreed. Coulrophobia isn't nearly as widespread as people would like you to think. Most do get creeped out from clowns, but a very low percentage of the population actually have a debilitating fear of them.

Yah I wouldn't say it is even really a fear as much as they make people uncomfortable, at least for me they do. I find they are overly animated, and for some reason their make-up creeps me out more than someone wearing a mask would/does.

A couple of years ago I took my niece and nephew to the circus. They may have been a bit too old to really enjoy the show, but not too old to laugh at the clowns, almost all the audience did.
But right beside us there was one little kid who went completely off the deep end, screaming her little lungs out. Her mom had to leave with her, with many apologies from the circus staff.
That was an example of real Coulrophobia. But it was only one out of an audience of a few hundred. And I doubt it had anything to do with Stephen King.
Real but rare, I think.

To my understanding, it was mostly Stephen King's IT that made more people afraid of clowns, that generation.

funny thing: it's stephen King's "It" that I think is the ground zero for most of this clown-scare bs

When I was 9 years old, Salem's Lot scared the shit out of me...did I spend the rest of my life feeling freaked out by the goth set?

Clue: No. I got over it a couple of years later.

Should people be freaked out by clowns because of
"It'" Simply because they viewed it during their childhood?

Fuck No. I mean, seriously...how old do you have to be to get over that shit?

No. don't laugh off the question. FFS, we are talking about a stupid Stephen King story after all...Who among you truly needs to get a grip?

Also "It" may have had creepy Pennywise the clown on the cover and do most of the scary stuff to the kids, but he was a giant ass SPIDER under that clown.

My comment above has kinda made your point - but in my defence I do admit that it is more that I am creeped out by clowns rather than a debilitating fear. I also find the smile painted on to their faces disturbing. It feels like it is masking something sinister. No-one is that happy all the time. :-)

Perhaps, it would certainly go in with the timeline. It gained prominence in the 80s and that is when "It" came out in novel form.
