Richie, has topped a popularity poll
The endearing market trader, played by Shane Richie, nabbed 42 per cent of the vote in a survey which asked 2,310 fans to name the character they would most like to share a takeaway with.
Alfie's tart-with-a-heart wife Kat (Jessie Wallace) came second in the poll by Just-Eat.co.uk, with 36 per cent of the vote.
Both Alfie and Kat return to Walford in the coming months after several years away from the soap.
Kind-hearted Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) was third and hardman Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) took fourth spot.
Now deceased dog Wellard was voted fifth most popular dinner companion, with a staggering 30 per cent of the vote.
Nasty Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) was named the character fans would least like to eat a takeaway with, followed by Dirty Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) and wife-beater Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns).
