Australian cricket legend Allan Border has signed on as a judge for FOX8's upcoming reality series Cricket Superstar.

To be hosted by FOX Sports presenter and host of Football Superstar seasons two Lee Furlong, the sporting competition will see Australia's top 15 male cricketers compete in various challenges for the chance to be the first Cricket Superstar.

"This show is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a young ambitious Australian cricket player to take a giant leap. It will be the ultimate test of skill, stamina and perseverance as well as compelling viewing for everyone at home." said Border.

With more than 150 test matches and over 11,000 test runs to his name, Border holds the world record for the number of consecutive test appearances as well as the number of tests as captain. He is also recognised for nurturing new talent, having instructed some of today's top players including Matthew Hayden, Glenn McGrath, Steve and Mark Waugh, Justin Langer and Shane Warne.

Nationwide auditions begin in Western Australia today, with cricket-hopefuls required to attend one of eight One-Day Trials for pre-trial selection by a panel of experts.
