Alyssa Milano is headed to Castle

... Larry Charles, the writer behind some of Seinfeld's wittiest and darkest lines, and McG, former executive producer of The O.C., are teaming up to create a new comedy for NBC. No title has been released, but we know it'll be semi-scripted (like Borat) and center on sci-fi junkies who set out to remake their favorite canceled TV show. Did somebody say, "Save our Bluths!"? [Variety]

... Castle's Detective Beckett (Stana Katic) better watch her back ... she'll be dealing with some fierce competition for Rick Castle's (Nathan Fillion) affection from guest star Alyssa Milano! Expect to see this love triangle in action sometime in 2010. [EW]

... Competitively time-slotted Fringe—which goes up against ratings giants like Grey's Anatomy, CSI, and The Office on Thursday nights—is kicking off a high-energy ad campaign in an effort to boost ratings. Expect to see strategically-placed "Observers" (those creepy bald guys from the show) in episodes of So You Think You Can Dance and broadcasts of Sunday Night Football. They'll also be roaming the streets in major cities like Atlanta and New York. Let's hope Josh Jackson dons some Observer makeup and hits the pavement, too. [Variety]

... After a successful one-hour special on the Disney channel earlier this month, it looks like My Little Pony will make its (her?) way to the small screen again. The sparkly maned beast has earned a spot on a new Discovery-Hasbro hybrid channel, created especially for kids. What's next, a Lisa Frank talk show? [THR]
