If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it. CBS' The Amazing Race may be in the shadow of more popular reality shows like American Idol and Survivor, but no other show can boast an Emmy award for Outstanding Reality Competion Series… because The Amazing Race has won them all.
Now The Amazing Race has another distinction--albeit a much, much stupider and pointless distinction--to add to its mantle; the show is the first to have its renewal announced via Twitter, the micro-blogging service that is slowly taking over America and turning people into the disconnected society that Wall-E warned us about.
Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan posted a renewal notice on his Twitter feed, and CBS' official Twitter confirmed the news shortly after, says The Hollywood Reporter.
CBS says casting is already underway for the fifteenth edition, and Keoghan will be dropping by several of the open auditions on his 40-day bike trek across the country.

I am from Tx and the auditions were canceled cause of the swine flu i am wanting to tryout are they going to have another audition in Tx or is it to late to tryout???? Does anyone know???
Twitter is an utterly pointless invention. I do enjoy The Amazing Race, and though it's no surprise that it's being renewed for another season, i'm still glad for it to happen.

I love this show. this and Survivor are the best reality-shows on tv.
I just can't fathom the Twitter thing. It's like Facebook. I hate that every year there seems to be a different popular social network online. I prefer to stay with my originals and not join too many. It's stupid how every one seems to be just Tweeting(sp?). Save us WALL-E! Oh and congrats for The Amazing Race.
I went ahead and tweeted about this, hah! Glad to hear the Race is still running. This is a crucial part of my plan to be on the show and win.
I still have no idea what Twitter is, and I don't care to know either. Anyway, I LOVE this show, so glad it's getting renewed again. Woo hoo.
