The Killing is no Rubicon. AMC renewed the series for a second season today, a week before its first-season finale is set to air. This settled the "will it or won't it come back?" question plaguing its fans, who had reason to be concerned.
The show's June 7th episode registered a CW-like 0.5 adult demographic rating and drew just under 2 million viewers—unimpressive numbers for the network that recently unleashed the surprise hit The Walking Dead to the tune of more than 5 million viewers in its premiere episode. The Killing has also drawn fire from critics for a recent red herring storyline after being praised for the bulk of its early run.
But whatever, it got renewed, so "suck it!!!" low ratings and recent criticisms! Rubicon remains the only scripted AMC series to not get picked up for a second season.
Are you happy that The Killing is returning? Or do you find it so boring that you'd rather have your eyes gouged out by rusty screwdrivers?
