AMC Renews Turn: Washington's Spies for Season 3

AMC released a statement today that served two purposes. 1) It announced the network renewed Turn: Washington's Spies for a third season. 2) It reminded us that there's a show called Turn: Washington's Spies

The little-discussed series about the early goings of the Revolutionary War and the spies who turned the tide doesn't get much chatter on the web (though to be fair, the little chatter is that Season 2 was pretty darned good), but AMC says rich people love it. And because rich people are coveted by advertisers for having lots of money to buy Audis and those fancy beds that keep your partner from snoring, AMC is keeping it around. The network says Turn: Washington's Spies is the "third most affluent scripted drama among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 on ad-supported television" last year, behind only Mad Men and The Americans.

Turn: Washington's Spies, which ended its second season in early June, stars Jaime Bell, Ian Kahn, Kevin. R. McNally, and Meegan Warner. Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes and will air in 2016.

Do YOU watch Turn: Washington's Spies?

I'm rich and loving it! Colonial history strangely compels me to buy expensive things I'll never use.

Given the way season 2 ended it seemed liked the writers knew they had the renewal in the bag.

For the people who like to know how historical correct this series is there is a lot of info on: https://spycurious.wordpress.com/
If you really want to know if George Washington had a mental breakdown at Valley Forge or if the spy gadgets used are historically appropriate you can find it on this site. Please people don't start complaining about "temporal anomalies" Just look at the timeline chart and you see all the events that have already been mentioned in the show plotted on a historically accurate timeline. For your pleasure. The show is somewhat "chronological flexible" but is entertaining as hell imho.

I'm jumping for joy. Great news.

I'd begin watching, but I'd hate to have something in common with Trump.

It gets better with Season 2. Season 1 started dragging a little for me and I was not sure if I was going to stick with it for Season 2 - but glad I did! Happy to see the news that it was renewed.

Starting to think I should add this to my list of things to watch. Tried it thought it was boring. Now that it is in season 3 might give it a second go.

Glad to hear it. I've been catching up on the show, first through Netflix, and then on-demand through my DVR, and it is a good show. Granted, it's not the best spy-based series right now (The Americans), but I still really enjoy it.

Well, we can kiss Halt and Catch Fire goodbye now... unless it's somehow the fourth most affluent scripted drama among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 on ad-supported television!

Oddly enough I really like the show and I'm not one of those rich people demographics. I just like historical television shows however fictionalized they are. I'm very glad it got renewed.
