To paraphrase John Rambo, "The war is never over."
Second-season American Idol champ Ruben Studdard and second-season runner-up Clay Aiken will continue their musical competition in record stores this September. The two are releasing albums within a week of each other.
Studdard's The Return lands in stores September 26. It will feature a cover of Luther Vandross' "If Only for One Night."
"With The Return, I'm letting all the people who've followed me from American Idol until now know that basically I'm back," Studdard said.
Aiken's album, titled A Thousand Different Ways, sashays into record stores September 19. It features covers of Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" and Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do (I Do For You)."
"These are songs I heard growing up," Aiken said. "I've always loved them then and I still love them today... They have new arrangements and we put our own style on some of them."
