Community deserves the love, it is a great show.

And the public got it right for the most part. Yay for Community and Fringe as winners. But how did Fringe not win best Sci-fi?
Reply
Flag
For those who think The Big Bang Theory is better than Community, that's your right! But for me any comedy with laughing in the background can NEVER be the best comedy.

Big Bang Theory, HIMYM, etc. very enjoyable and I'll certainly keep watching them, and some might even enjoy it more than Community (tastes differ, that's a fact!). But in no way is it 'better' than Community.
Reply
Flag
i wonder where they get that list, community is not so good, not bad but not wonderfull!!
Reply
Flag
This is exactly why it's the most underrated show. Big Bang Theory and HIMYM are so overrated and have been getting staled over the last few seasons.
Reply
Flag
Community deserved every spot it got on that list!
Reply

Wow, for once I basically agree with everyone single one of these that applies to me! Except I don't watch Supernatural but I can kind of understand it being above The Walking Dead. Except fo the Walking Dead's last episode which made me cry shocked tears....
Reply

Community isn't THAT good. Not good enough to surpass shows like Breaking Bad, Boss, and Fringe. Comon people, don't let TV.com be plagued by "popularitis".
Reply
Flag
Or maybe Community really is THAT good. Just because its a 22 minute comedy doesn't make it any less smart, ingenious or well crafted than 43 minute drama.
Reply
Flag
I have crrazy love for both Community and Breaking Bad, but it has to be said that while Community is genius, Breaking Bad is art, and it transcends television.

I Would Say Fringe instead of community

Yay Community, GoT and most important of all.... CRAIGYFERG! <3 The thing that puzzles me the most about America is the fact that Craig Ferguson isnt leading in the ratings... Oh and how the hell havent you guys given Ed Norton a major award yet? Step it up America.
Reply

Well I agree with alit of this list however I dislike a number of the categories. Like the reality show one and the best variety show (I like Jimmy Falon's show the best) and I think ugly americans is the best animated show of 2011, hands down.

SON'S OF ANARCHY IS THE BEST SHOW OVERALL PLUS HOW CAN COMMUNITY WIN THE BEST OVERALL AND MOST UNDERRATED?
Reply
Flag
Duh doy. It has a big fan base on here and possibly in real life but neither is shown in it's ratings on TV. As a highly acclaimed show by both fans who have watched every episode and critics (some of whom seemed to not like the show were livid when it was taken off the schedule and immediately said they loved the show but rated it harshly due to how amazing it was)) it lives up to the definition of underrated. And also it rules so it won best overall.

When did "sci-fi" appear on the fantasy award?

Huzzah for Community! Great for Game of Thrones too!

For pete's sake, stop abusing Community !

ringer should have been #1 over revenge. and

criminal minds should have been #1 over castle.
Reply
Flag
Game of thrones was pretty good. But the rest of those, I won't even remember them in 30 minutes. Flush them down the toilet and make a wish.
Reply
Flag
Game of Thrones IS the best Fantasy series, I can't believe that the last two pitiful seasons of Supernatural beat it. But really, Sci-fi last year was scarce, and with Game of Thrones trouncing everything, there should have been two separate categories.
Reply
Flag
Warehouse 13 for best Sci-fi

And Grimm is pretty awesome too but Game of Thrones is top rated.

Bones over castle.

Best reality should be Deadlist Catch.
Reply
Flag
No Homeland? Yeah, that's wrong.
Reply
Flag
Not sure how Community qualifies as an "underrated" show. More like overrated.
Reply
Flag
It's not. It's popular on this website. Deserves more viewers in ratings.
Reply
Flag
Well because it is considered the funniest comedy on TV but just went on hiatus sort of confusing how it would ever be called overrated.

Where is best Sci-Fi?

I'm thinking Justified would have made a good play for Most underrated too...

Since Community won best comedy too...Fringe should've won best series overall. Definitely. Glad Supernatural won for best sci fi/fantasy. Although if we just spoke about what aired in 2011...Fringe should've won that category too. Also..best underrated series should've gone to Fringe. Are you sensing a pattern here?

No Breaking Bad wins = fail. Nervous Community fans blanket-voted...it's good but not the best overal show, that's for sure.
Reply
Flag
Well, this happen when you let people vote as many times as they want lol.

It's a popularity contest which I really don't understand in the case of Community because, sadly, nobody's watching. I'm a die hard fan of community, but we shouldn't have won if TV.com had more readers or you were allowed to vote just once. But hey, every little thing helps.

Don't forget, it was on the cover of The Guide--fan favorite comedy. Community has a crazy loyal fanbase (of which I am proudly part of), and if NBC is (insert derogatory adjective here) enough to let it go, another channel will pick it up.

seriously?! Community is better than TBBT?! you gotta be kidding me. anyway I'm glad that Revenge, Game of Thrones got their categories. Also pleased that Craig is getting the deserved place because he's simply the greatest latenightshow host
Reply

I love TBBT but Community is WAY more advanced and a better show in general. It wins on creativity, jokes and characters. Creativity wise it has some of the most crazy, out there and ambitious episodes that have been so amazing and popular. TBBT usually follows pretty normal and safe plots which never surprise the audience who know know that and have tuned in for that. Jokes wise, TBBT may have some nerd and scientific talk but the jokes are always just fed to the audience and generally never re-visited. Community had a joke about beetlejuice that took 3 SEASONS (that's it's entire running time so far BTW) to set up and it was so brilliant it already has over a millkion views in a few months. And I'm sorry but TBBT characters never really change much. It makes the show easier to watch because the characters and their plot arcs don't ever really do anything to change them and rarely change their environment either which suits its mainstream audience. It doesn't make great characters that you can love and relate tand more just makes them people that we laugh at and don't really know much about at all. TBBT is for a mainstream audience and follows to the formula for a popular television show heavily whereas Community requires the audience to think and want to get to know the characters in a unique and positively brilliant and obscure masterpiece. TBBT is sure to give laughs but for a show that gives laughs, warms your heart, breaks your heart sometimes and always leaves you in awe of it's genius Community wins by far.

Yes, "Community" is way better than "The Big Bang Theory". I like TBBT, its a pretty funny 22 minute sitcom that makes me laugh but it doesn't even approach the creativity of "Community".

I never found the big bang theory, modern family, or 30 rock to be even remotely funny. Ok, 30 rock is mildly funny (I like that Tina Fey, but tracy morgan is insufferable! (you either love him or hate him...). I know it's only in infancy (and no jinx), but Suburgatory is 10x better than all these shows combined.

I absolutely Love Supernatural, BUT--Fringe should have won best sci-fi, as it performed better in 2011. SPN would be my runner-up though.

Breaking Bad should have won best series. Come on......I know guys, we all love Community, but let's be realistic here. Breaking Bad season 4 was-THE-BEST.

And finally, South Park should have won over Family Guy. Last I checked, this isn't 2005...
Reply

It didn't win best sci-fi, it won best fantasy. There is no sci-fi award.

I personally think Futurama should be the best animated series. I mean, Family Guy is very weak this season. I stopped watching.
Reply
Flag
I love futurama :) My brother got all the seasons a few years ago and he was so upset when he saw they had a bender box now for the new series... LOL
Reply
Flag
I agree with most of them aside from Family Guy. I thought South Park was by and far better last year since they at least made some progress with it. And Archer beats them all. As far as Community being the best yet still underrated. For those that watch TV, and for these purposes it is the viewers that visit and comment on this site it is the best overall series. However, they acknowledge that in the realm of the average TV viewer who will take the cheap laughs of The Big Bang Theory, the no laughs of Whitney, and the memorable but sad that it has gone away laughs of The office and no give Community a chance it is therefore also underrated by the general populace.

And whomever said Bones was the best down the page. It might have used to be, but the new dynamic between Booth and Bones is horrendous and has ruined the show. Fox needs to pull it before it gets any worse.

Wow this list isn't very good or accurate! Game of Thrones and Supernatural are good where they are, but other shows should have won, or lost as the case may be.
Reply

Well, don't forget that the tv.com staff didn't make these selections; these are the results of users of the site voting on their favorites. Hard to quantify "accurate" in those terms.

what is this community?

I love it because it's a comedy that manages to have the hugest heart, the most complicated and subtle jokes and the most unique and real lovable misfits with faults and virtues. They don't need a complicated plot to have an amazing episode, one of my favourite episodes stemming from the basic plot of a open going missing. They have crazy episodes that only just fit into being realistic and involve paint wars, zombies (kind of) and an timeline episode just to throw in. IMO the show starts a bit slow but it slowly gets better and better in the first season. Purely based off the first few episodes I may not have watched the show. The second season gets even better in many ways and rewards all it's viewers with their love and understanding of the characters with all kinds of episodes. You never really know what you're getting but it's always good.

Liar! Liars are Streets Behind. And other people obviously still like it cause it got pretty awesome results on this poll. I think it keeps getting better... I'll admit I haven't seen much of the third season but the clips I've seen are really good. And I haven't seen much because it hasn't aired in my country yet.
Reply
Flag
Well apparently not because the fans still seem to love it, because to be it just keeps getting better. And how can you honestly say that when shows like Two and a Half Men use the same awful jokes and jags season after season and get away with it?!
Reply
Flag
How is Fringe the Runner-Up for Best Overall but not even the best or runner up for Sci-Fi?? lol
Reply
Flag
Revenge is the only accurate win in my opinion. And I'm still trying to wrap my head around how Community can be the best overall and still underated. Paradox.
Reply
Flag
Revenge is about to air in my country so I can't judge how good it is from the stupid ads that seem to give away the whole plot and still tell you nothing... But Revenge will have as bigger if not bigger fan base in my country than Community in no time. Purely because basically everyone I've talked to hasn't even heard the name let alone seen the ads. And I've talked to HEAPS of people... And Community has aired two seasons here. It has a lot of fans on here who think it's great but they're fans on this website and can't reflect the ratings in real life.
