Andy Hallett.
It's a melancholy time in the Whedonverse, as one of its own has passed away before his time. Actor Andy Hallett, who played the demon Lorne in Angel, died Sunday night from heart failure at the age of 33, reports E! Online. He had been battling heart disease for five years.
Hallett appeared in almost 80 episodes of the paranormal dramedy, and donned green skin and horns for his role. As Lorne, also known as "The Host" or by his full name Krevlornswath of the Deathwok Clan, Hallett added plenty of comic relief to Angel. Lorne's kind were supposed to be at war with humans, but he instead embraced their arts and served as the emcee at a karaoke bar.
After Angel, Hallett dedicated his time to his music career, playing shows around the country. A private funeral is scheduled later this week in his hometown of Cape Cod.

I couldn't believe it when I saw this devastating news in the paper. He was one of my all time favorite characters on Angel and he will definitely be missed.

what a sin only 33 years young. Lorne was a great character, I am reminded of the story arc when the Host, Angel and the crew went to Lornes dimension to save Cordelia. Lornes mother was his father, his father was his mother! you get the point pure Whedon brilliance.

I was truly saddened by this awful news. I never missed an episode of ANGEL and adored "Lorne" with his garish costumes and offbeat sense of humor. His voice was amazing as well. Rest in peace, you beautiful soul.
