Aquaman opens with $116 million

Vincent Chase is the biggest fake star in the world.

Chase, played by Adrian Grenier, is the main character in HBO's Entourage, a show that follows the comedic adventures of a rising Hollywood star and his band of merry men. A major plot thread has involved Chase starring in a fictitious James Cameron production of Aquaman, based on the DC Comics character.

Last Sunday's episode revolved around the opening weekend of Aquaman and expectations as to whether it would outgross Spider-Man, which had the largest opening weekend in movie history. In the end Aquaman won out, and to celebrate HBO took out a full-page ad in Hollywood trade paper Variety trumpeting the numbers.

"Biggest Box-Office Splash In History!" reads the ad. "$116,844,114. First three days and still swimming."

Entourage returned for its third season on June 11, notching 2.7 million viewers, a significant increase over the season-two average of 1.9 million viewers.
