Are Heroes' Actors Jumping Ship?

Another empty chair! Why, God... why!?!?

Some moron on this site recently guessed that NBC's Heroes, which some would say survived four seasons based on only a half-season's worth of quality, would be back for another season next fall. Well, it seems I may have more confidence in the show than its own actors.

Heroes has been the subject of "should it/shouldn't it be canceled" chatter for some time now, and that talk—if one "insider" is to be believed—has spread to the superhero drama's set.

"Everyone [involved with Heroes] is expecting this to be the last season," said a "well-placed Heroes source," according to E! Online. "The cast, the crew, everyone."

The talk comes just days after Heroes' Sendhil Ramamurthy, who plays Human Fly Mohinder on the program, landed a gig in the pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. This of course means that either Mohinder has a good shot at becoming dead or that the entire show has a good shot at becoming dead. Maybe that's why Adrian Pasdar was so cool about getting killed off again.

NBC Universal is expected to move into the hands of Comcast soon, and when new corporate overlords come on board, they love to do one thing: wreck shop. Will Heroes survive without the same NBC execs calling the shots?

i think that they should do next season, and i all so feel that they should send out a voting thing out on the web to ask the people how watch heroes if they what them to end the show, to me i hope they do not end it beasuse i love the show and i in joy it a lot and i all was go on the websites that have heroes on it so i can see what cool abilities and etc... and with my heart i wish that do not end the show and that is my comment today. and one more thing the show heroes rocks! and i love watching it every monday.

I am glad I never got into this show after season 1.Stopped watching after 3 or 4 episodes in season 2 and from what I have heard this was the right decision.I think it is Heroes time to go, make room for something fresh (and possibly even good...even on Nbc!)

  • Draco_69

Yeah, it should move it's air time! to match the Power Rangers air time! Even so, Power Rangers can be more heroic than Heroes... The characters are wimps, stopped evolving their personalities after season 1... I think the actors are good, but the writting... Even they know that, that's why they're getting off, i think...

  • Gentoo

Heroes started off strong because it had good characters. But it fell flat, even in the first season, because it is extremely weak on plot coherency. A fan can only tolerate so many false starts and abandoned plot lines. And unlike with LOST, Heroes doesn't engender any faith that these abandoned plot lines will later be picked up again and explained.

  • Eng_Mizo

I wish they could cancel it NOW !!

  • juancorazon

Heroes should end already, it's the same crap as Smallville (Days of our Lives with Super Powers)

  • fahadn1

I really hope they cancel it already.

  • QE-Zodak

if they insist on NOT killing sylar, then this show should be cancelled. it isn't hard to do a superhero show, smallville has heroes being heroic but Heroes doesn't.

  • Starprincess13

It's only a matter of time before it gets canceled.

  • jamesfoley2

Really very informative and interesting site.http://www.goarticles.com/cgi-bin/showa.cgi?C=2300082

  • augcast

Heroes is still on the air?? Thats the only heroic thing it's done, mange to survive so long

  • NarendranThesma

    I want heroes to continue.......

  • carlgian

Anything Hayden Panatierre is in I'm watching.

  • sunnysfunny

This is the last season I'm watching anyway even if it continues or not.

  • MemnochZERO

I love Samuel and the Carnival folks too. Heroes always strcuk me as the kind of show that could always expand beyond the original characters once they got stale. After this season if it comes back for a season 5, I really don't care to see much of the OG cast except Bennet and Peter... and Sylar and Matt depending on where they end up by the end of the season. For the most part the best way to inject new life into Heroes is set and end date like LOST or just bring in new characters played by great actors to replace the ones that are no longer exciting. As it stands though, season 4 has been great so far. At this point in season 3 the show sucked balls, so that's gotta say something, right?moreless

  • Whisper_a_Wind

I think with Samuel and the other new characters, it has become more interesting. They should never had moved it to oppose HOUSE...that was stupid right there. A show can only do so much.

  • thornton212

I really hope this isn't their last season. Heroes is by far the best show on tv to me, and at the very least the best show on nbc. This season has been awesome so far, potentially the best season of the series. I know their ratings have fallen alot since the first season, but they still get a decent amount of viewers. Plus when you look on sites like this one and others show rating sites heroes gets great ratings, just about every episode gets great ratings, so I see no reason to end this show just yet. Here's an idea for nbc, try advertising their shows once in a while. I've never seen a comercial for heroes on any other channel than nbc. It's sad that g4 promotes the reruns more than nbc promotes the new episodes.moreless

It's been so long since a decent Heroes episode that I've forgotten why I started watching. I remember season 1 being great, but the characters have been so watered out - pretty much all of them becoming whiny and introspective - that I don't care about any of them any more. Remember when you really wanted Peter to save Claire? When did you last care if any of them lived or died? I mean dying on this show has no meaning, as they'll just be back somehow anyway. I doubt the show can pull out of this downward spiral, there's been too much pointless melodrama.

  • builder111

This show was great but it's like the writers have no idea what to do anymore. It's moved to the bottom of my "to watch" queue.

  • seafoampheonix

Heroes isn't going anywhere. All they need to do is move its airing time.

  • snake3rules

@ominousshadow -- No it really isnt... still a total crapfest... pretty much EVERYTHING involving the circus and its characters BLOWS, specifically their motivations, or lack thereof

  • OminousShadow87

Have you people been watching this season? It's considerably better than 2 & 3, returning more to its character based roots than "how many plot twists can we shove in one episode" thing that has been going on. Heroes is as good as it ever has been right now

  • shwaguy

I actually get peeved off watching Heroes now. It is soooo bad and boring. I loved the first season and its such a disappointment to see it swing to the other way. Confusing story line, constant switching sides, everything going in circles..just aweful!! Bye Heroes. Counting the days till Lost and 24 start.

  • withoutcanseco

so much potential. then it crashed and burned.

  • emma5000

I hope they're not going to cancel it right now with no ends meet, but I most definitely won't stick with another season, because it's just not worth it ... . There seemed to be some hope, that it might get some of season 1's quality back during a few episodes, that weren't too bad, but Monday's episode was a real bummer again ... so, please, give us a decent ending SOON!

  • crazylurza

just cancel HEROES!!..this show is making me bored!

  • nikomatic

    Heroes getting renewed? Fat chance.

  • camuy11

    this show is SO dead...

  • bjork9999

I still really love the show. Yes, it's not the same show as Season 1, but I thought Season 1-2 were too bloody. Gore tends to cheapen anything it touches.Anyway, I agree that there is still a lot more show to do. Look at Smallville, every year is a new challenge and sometimes a new ability. I could easily see Heroes do a future saga where Heroes have come out, like before, but this time you have major battles between armies with various Hero battles throughout. Or, you could keep them small scale and post-Apocalyptic. The battles take place in random encounters but push towards an end goal, like Terminator Salvation. In fact, why not bring those actors in from Terminator into Season 5? There's always quality actors available to replace those that decide to leave.Long story long, if the writers are having a hard time thinking of story lines, then all they have to do is pick up any decent comic book series or cartoon series and adapt the major themes. The rest is just dialogue and personalization to each character they decide to use. It could even be a spin-off series, like the online stuff. In other words, there is still a major audience very much interested in many more seasons. Just look at all the comic book movies--of course there is.moreless

  • mimisc2009

As much as I love Heroes I think this should be the last season.

  • drumstel

Hahaha should have seen this cumming a mile away. If it truly stops next season, it would be nice if the writers gives it a real big bang. Something like the end of season 1.

  • GODHOOD

I've only seen Ramamurthy in two episodes this season, seems the writers don't know what to do with the character Mohinder, I have a feeling he will be killed off. Personally I think Heroes is on its last legs, but I will be totally surprised if gets another season.

  • ursinism

I think that this show will die if they don't change the line. This season we have AGAIN the one gathering the others for a bad purpose. It's time for them to become "some kind of" superheroes. They should use their powers to defend or attack others.I'm definately not saying that they have to be the Justice League or use a disguise; only have more confidence in their powers so they can use them for good or evil and stop the quest for who they are and stuff like that. They also may train or help new people discovering and controlling their powers and in that way use new characters and storylines for as long as they want.I am not a genius but, humbly, I am sure that if they go in that direction they could save it and have a couple of more seasons.moreless

  • shadowysea07

nope this show and sanctuary are so gone. they both started out with good ideas that never came to be. it would of been better for them to go on hiatus like eureka did so that they can get their stuff in order. too late now so please just put them out of their misery.

  • sequoa84

the show has run its course,... time to die with the little respect left in it..

  • DaVulture

I think it's a good move on Sendhil's part, and I'm pretty sure this isn't the last we'll be seeing of Adrian Pasdar. I think Zachary Quinto probably has the most promise of anyone on this show, because he was really good as Spock in the New Star Trek movie and that movie was a huge hit. I'm sure he'll be moving onto movies.

  • 123tv

    Put this show down. Please.

  • neobodi

"NBC's Heroes, which some would say survived four seasons based on only a half-season's worth of quality" Well I would agree. Save the cheerleader, the cool HIiroo from the future with potential of a mature show with X-men like twist and increadible adventure was what i hoped for. What we ended up getting is a lame show that is unable to mature even so everything is there to make it great. They had great Idea all along the way ending up just being tiny diamons lost in pile of mud, promisess of greatness the show never kept. I am sad as this show was filling a real hunger for this kind of story that only led to frustration.

  • saleblanc

If the scripts continue on the downward spiral they're on.... the pulse of the show gets weaker and weaker with every episode...

  • MissedHisPath

No way.. I hope It survivesHeroes if it in the right hands It would survive for 10 seasons and on the top of the shows..I'm not exaggerating

  • TVvuer69

Shouldn't this article say "Human Spider" Mohinder? I know when he first got his abilities, it looked like several scenes from The Fly, but eventually he was able to produce webbing and encase people in cocoons. I for one would have liked to see how he would have turned out had he not gotten the stabilization formula. A time traveling Peter got to see that when he visited an alternate future and Spidey Mohinder couldn't bear to show his face.

  • TheFlash27

If you're listening Comcast, renew the show, change the day, and hope for the better. If you have to put it on the Friday Death Slot, on the assembly line for its axe.

  • TheFlash27

So what? Everyone despises Mohinder and Nathan was dying too much and so they finally killed him off because of it. I think the reason this show is sinking is because, (A) each character has its own telenovela going on and not a common goal or involvement, (B) there aren't a lot of thrilling movements, power fights, or imminent disasters, (C) Sylar is annoying, he is bi-polar, he is bad serial killer, then he is good, then he is neutral, then he is bad again, ugh. (D) The comics, nuclear disaster, serial killer, in season one were good ploys and after that, everything flatten out and didn't become worth watching. (E) Timeline of show, if Tim Kring had put a timeline of the shows termination, like Lost and Desperate Housewives have with ensemble casts, then it would garner support and be headed toward direction. In my opinion, they could revive the show in an number of ways. They could start by moving it to a new night, perhaps, Wednesday or Thursday. Bring in popular actors/actress like Megan Fox (Sylar's killer counterpart ) perhaps or Samuel L Jackson ( he could have been Danko), and another idea would be to have the Heroes come out of the closet with their powers in a situation where the whole world sees them save humanity, like 2012 apocalypse, since many films are following suit on these topic, and then why not throw in a Heroes War, against Terrorists with powers, or a medical drama with Claire Bennett in the ER, she would be great for autopsy's, nuff said, you could do a lot.moreless

Probably won't survive without its NBC supporters.
