The Biggest Loser is back, and the production team have been in overdrive to ensure that it is bigger and better than previous outings.

After numerous incarnations, including pairs of family members and couples fighting it out to become the Biggest Losers, the production team have opted for four family teams, all massively overweight, fighting it out to become fit.

But, with great power comes great responsibility, and to ensure that all the contestants are well looked after, TEN has recruited a new trainer. The Circle's Tiffiny Hall, who used to be a Gladiator, will put the families through their paces.

Hall will join the team, which already includes Shannan Ponton, Michelle Bridges and "The Commando", and will see each of the trainers going head-to-head with each other, in a competition not dissimilar in format to The X Factor.

Hall, who is also an author and journalist, is the daughter of an Olympic taekwondo coach and her mother has a black belt in martial arts.

"I see it as an amazing opportunity to give Australia their black belt in health,'' she said of her new employment.

"Fight for your lives, fight for your pride, fight for your health. And if you've given up the fight, I'm here to help you unleash the inner warrior,'' she continued.

It's going to be a tough year for some overweight Aussies!
