Greg Behrendt, coauthor of the popular dating guide He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys, will soon be dispensing advice to TV audiences as host of a talk/relationship show.
The tentatively titled The Greg Behrendt Show has been chosen as the first project to come out of the deal that Sony Pictures Television, the Tribune Broadcasting stations, and Tribune Entertainment cut in the spring to develop and produce first-run syndicated programs.
The show, set to launch in daytime in fall 2006, will feature Behrendt offering common-sense, comedic advice.
Sony Pictures Television is producing and distributing the hourlong strip, which has been cleared on the 26 stations that Tribune Broadcasting owns and operates.
Behrendt wrote He's Just Not That Into You with Liz Tuccillo. He followed that up with It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken: The Smart Girl's Break-Up Buddy, which he wrote with his wife, Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt.
Behrendt, a comedian who has appeared on shows like CBS' Late Show With David Letterman, was a consultant for three seasons of HBO's Sex and the City.
