Banshee Season 3 Has a Premiere Date and a Cool New Poster

Whoa, whoa, whoa, put down your weapons, guys! There's no need for bodily harm. I finally have the information you've probably been waiting for since March: a premiere date for Banshee's third season! So get out your calendars, Post-It notes, piece of baloney shaped like letters and numbers, or whatever else you use to remind yourself of important dates that you absolutely cannot miss. Are you ready? Cool. Then you can go ahead and set your DVR for an action-packed evening on Friday, January 9 at 10pm.

When Lucas, Carrie, and the rest of Banshee's residents return, they'll have to deal with the fallout of the very bloody Season 2 finale, which took a detour into flashback territory, eliminated a threat, and killed off a few supporting characters, among other things. And thanks to TV Line, we can now offer you a glimpse of the Season 3 poster, which provides a couple hints as to what to expect this season (in addition to looking super cool):

January can't come fast enough! This is the best underrated show of all time. There's absolutely no reason why Banshee doesn't get the same love as Breaking Bad!

At the end of season 2 we see Chayton Littlestone break a man's neck during an illegal fight before revealing that he and his friends are coming home to the Kinaho Indian reservation. Obviously Lucas Hood is going to have big problems when Chayton gets back 'cos the only thing little about this guy is his surname. Good luck Hood, you'll need it!!

It means that Rebecca set off a war with assassination of Alex Longshadow and our boy - Still Pretending to Be Sheriff Lucas Hood - is going to be stuck in the middle of it - between the Amish and the Kinaho Indians. Who is 'Hood' going to be protecting more? (Does this mean a return from Odette Annable's 'Nola' - hope so.) The Tribe must be rather pissed off. That also means the man they myth the legend Chayton Littlestone is going to be a primary player. With the slow moving early part of the television season - 'Banshee' will be just what is needed to get the second half of the season cooking with gas. Can't wait to see where it goes from here now that rabbit is dead and Deva know 'Hood' is her dad. It's gonna be awesome. Bring it on! On the lighter side, maybe we get a Lucas and Siobhan and Carrie and Gordon double date that ends in complete mayhem.

BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION AT PRESENT, IMO NOT EVEN A CONTEST.

BANSHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Thanking Jonathan Tropper, David Shickler, and Greg Yaitanes, in advance for another completely awesome 10 episodes of television. Season 3 is a make or break season for most shows - can't wait to see what 'Banshee' has in store.

Let's hope Hood isn't related to Colonel Custer - though he sure as shit acts like it!
So I guess Banshee's own Mongo, of sorts, is returning. If you shoot him, you'll just make him mad.

This show is so frickin underrated. I wish it got more media attention, it seriously deserves it. Well, until then, I guess I'll do my bit by harping on about to anyone who'll listen (and even those who won't).

Wheeeee! :D
Can't wait - I'm thinking Hood will rain bloody vengeance down on the creeps who killed his (former) deputy Emmett, and will be hunted by giant natives in turn.
Where Kai will fit into all of this, I have no idea - but I'm pretty sure he won't let us forget about him. ;)

I can't believe nobody I know is watching this. They are missing out enormously. I guess It's my job to convince them.

Can't wait for it to begin! No clue what the posters means but a few arrows can never hurt. Or well, they'll probably hurt somebody...

Spread the word. I've found that most people I tell to watch usually start from the Pilot (you kind of have to) and they usually don't stop until they've finished the 10th episode of Season 2. I've been thanked more often for this than many other recommendations. There is a reason why this is the highest rated show on this network - 'cause its the best GD show on this network. 'The Knick' - or another New York City is the center of the universe story from HBO - was like watching paint dry compared to 'Banshee' and the missing because of injury to star 'Strike Back'. ('Strike Back' is like what '24' could have been with a broader horizon. Like 'Banshee' the action scenes in 'Strike Back' are exceptionally well choreographed and the explosions are done better than anything else on television.)

I actively try to get anyone I talk television with to watch this and Strike Back. Cinemax deserves a lot more viewers with shows as entertaining as those two examples.

What a poster! It quite clearly suggests that Green Arrow is coming to town. Don't you just love crossover episodes? (No one better refute me on this. Don't kill my fantasy.)
