Longtime Baseball Tonight commentator Harold Reynolds has abruptly left his post at ESPN after 11 years at the cable network, an ESPN spokesman said Tuesday.
ESPN would not disclose the reason behind Reynolds' departure or say whether the former Gold Glove winner had been fired. He last appeared on Baseball Tonight, a daily baseball highlight news and information show, Sunday, said ESPN spokesman Nate Smeltz.
The cable network will draw from "a deep pool of commentators" who now contribute to Baseball Tonight for Reynolds' replacement, Smeltz said.
Reynolds, 45, spent 12 years as a second baseman in Major League Baseball teams before becoming a baseball analyst for ESPN. He played for the Seattle Mariners, the Baltimore Orioles, and the California Angels.

Harold was the only reason to watch Baseball Tonight, without him it's all downhill.
I liked him. Why is he leaving.
Also, there's no way he's 45. It has to be a lie.
Damn it! Reynolds was the best guy ESPN had.
This is just terrible news. Harold is great. The L.L.W.S. won't be the same without him.
Sad! Harold had a great on-air personality and really knew his stuff.
