Attention Kristen Bell fans (and there are a lot of you out there)--you can finally let out a sigh of relief.
The star of the now-canceled cult favorite Veronica Mars is coming back to television--and not just to any old show either. Bell has ended speculation on her post-Mars gig by signing on to join the NBC megahit Heroes, reports Variety.
Bell will play Elle, a sexy (surprise!), mysterious (surprise again!) young woman who is somehow involved in several of the show's storylines and characters, including Claire, H.R.G., and Peter. The actress will join the series for multiple episodes, but just how many has not yet been revealed.
Several film and television studios have been scrambling to woo Bell since the demise of Veronica Mars, including ABC, which reportedly attempted to recruit the young starlet for its own hit drama (and Heroes rival) Lost.
"This was not easy to pull off," Heroes creator Tim Kring told Variety. "But since we're an ensemble show, with many arcs playing out through the year, we found a way to jump into a small window in [Bell's] schedule."
Bell's other upcoming projects include narrating the upcoming CW show Gossip Girl, acting as the lead in Judd Apatow's Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and costarring in the geeky comedy Fanboys.

I am even more happy about this than if she had ended up on Lost! Heroes was my favorite new show of last year and one of my overall favorite shows of all time! This is awesome!
I just started watching Heroes Today and i like the show the plot and everything is amazing and i can't wait to see Kristen in the show by the way i am a fan of her Veronica Mars show but i guess she better off in Heroes than nothing since VM is over.I am also getting ready to purchase the DVD when release.

does anyone know the exact number of new characters heroes has added? I feel like fans might be overwhelmed by the enormous number of additions for the second season. I mean, critics already named it the best show of the previous yr! I don't really watch Heroes, but asking all of you fans, did the show really need to add all of these new characters to remain "good"?
She's going to be incredible on Heroes. I love the show and her already, so I'm juiced. I'm glad she didn't choose Lost. That show is going nowhere, and I'm surprised how many people think it's a better show, when you have to wait till the end of the season to get half of the answers that mean nothing...Now they just need Chistopher Eccleston(invisible man) back, which I heard was in the works, and they are gold!
Ouch! can you imagine the reaction of Lost writers when they crafted a part just for her and instead joined its rookie rival. She certainly made a few enemys with that Benidict Arnold-like move.
seems ill have to start watching heroes again. the second half of last season was horrible but ill sit another season of this show for kristen bell.

I like Heroes anyway, but that's great news. Kristen Bell is a brilliant actress and while Veronica Mars will be sorely missed...I'm glad to hear she's going to be on the small screen again.

As if I needed another reason to watch Heroes! All drooling aside, Kristen Bell is one of the best young actresses out there. I hope her story arc turns into a regular gig for many seasons to come!

Fantastic news, love Kristen Bell. I only rented "Pulse" because she was in it... she did a great job in that movie, so i know she'll be awesome in Heroes. Looking forward to Season II. I have no doubt Kristen's career is just getting started. Mark my words, she's going to be a huge star and I'll bet she'll soon get another TV show that will go on to be a big-hit, before going on to draw big crowds at the movies.

What? What happened to Lost? She would've fitted in that show so much better! Heroes is doomed, it's the kind of show that even Kristen can't save from being worse then the first season.
I REALLY wish she would have joined Lost (a MUCH better show)....
But having her on Heroes could only make the show better i guess!
Kristen Bell was incredible in VM, so I have complete faith that she will be just as incredible as Elle in Heroes. Even though Lost is my favorite show, I don't think a role for her would have been good, there. I think it might have seemed a bit odd, really. Heroes seems like a more suitable place for her to be. Kudos to her for having so many huge networks and execs clamoring for her. I can't wait to see her in Heroes. It should be good.
