The 22-year-old trainee stockbroker was fired by Sir Alan Sugar after his team - Empire - lost a task to sell baby accessories.
At the Baby Show, Empire sold several of their home birthing pools but failed to sell any expensive hand-made rocking horses, leaving them with less than half of rival team Ignite's £1,600 sales.
Fighting his corner in the boardroom, Ben resorted to a familiar claim: "I can compete at a world class level. I've had an army scholarship to Sandhurst."
But an unimpressed Sir Alan dismissed the boast, saying: "Don't start banging on about b****y Sandhurst again.
"I was in the Jewish Lad's Brigade, Stamford Hill Division, but it didn't make me sell computers when I got older!"
Sir Alan delivered his verdict, saying: "Ben I think you think quite a lot of yourself. You over-hype yourself a little bit but at certain stages in this process I was seeing some quite bright light at the end of a long tunnel... but I feel that the light at the end of the tunnel has gone out quite frankly."
In the black cab, Ben said: "I didn't want to go this distance - I wanted to go the full way and I wanted to b****y well win it.
"I felt I could win it. I am still adamant that I am better than James, I am probably overall better than Debra as well."

He can't be better as he's on his way home! Anyone can get a scholarship, the real trick is to take it up and Pass it! Personal experience says that he wouldn't have made it!
