The Ben Stiller Show creator Ben Stiller continues his spate of classy film remakes of television shows with a big-screen version of The Persuaders. The original Persuaders aired for one season in Britain. It featured Roger Moore and Tony Curtis as two rich playboys who moonlighted as crime-fighting heroes.
Joining Stiller on the persuasive quest will be English comedian Steve Coogan. Coogan came to fame on the British television show I'm Alan Partridge, and recently starred in the films 24 Hour Party People and the big-budget flop Around the World in 80 Days, which was itself a remake.
Previously, Stiller has reimagined the '70s action series Starsky & Hutch and his own comedy sketch Zoolander for the big screen. No word yet on Owen Wilson or Vince Vaughn participating in the project.

That's gonna be the worse movie ever....
Ben Stiller is a great comedian, but he isn't cut out to star as Danny Wilde in The Persuaders. It wasn't a slapstick series but action mixed with political incorrectness on English and American prejudice and great dialogues Stiller would break his tongue trying to repeat them.
That'll be the second american remake of the persuaders. The first one was the 2004 general election, and like in the original series, people rooted for Danny wilde.
Sadly, I started to despair when I read the healine to this post. The original was a classic and seemed tailored for the two leads. This is one of the very few examples where you can watch screen chemistry. Ben Stiller might be a nice enough chap as may Steve Coogan, however, that's not to say they're not mismatched. I don't expect much from this outing.
I love Ben Stiller. He has a great reimagination.

Owen Wilson will be Roger Moore in this...and that's a good thing.
