Big Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes on Desperate Housewives

The residents of Wisteria Lane are getting another new neighbor! Fresh off of Ugly Betty, Vanessa Williams is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives next season—and hopefully bringing some of that Wilhelmina sass with her. Wisteria Lane hasn't been the same since Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) lost her groove in Season 3 (and her life in Season 5), but Williams could definitely add fuel to the show's dying flame.

Speaking of a dying flame, Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) wasn't kidding when he left Bree (Marcia Cross) in Sunday's Season 6 finale. MacLachlan is expected to return next season for a few episodes to tie up loose ends, but after that, he's really leaving, hopefully to get an acting job where he can stand and stuff. (Sorry, I went there.) I mean, good for MacLachlan, but bad for Bree. Orson is, like, the 86th guy who's left her—and one of the only ones who hasn't died. I just hope they give Bree some... hope.

Since Williams and MacLachlan aren't the only recent movers and shakers on Wisteria Lane, let's recap all the Desperate Housewives changes happening between Seasons 6 and 7:

Out with the old: Orson Hodge (Kyle MacLachlan) and Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany)
Out with the new: Angie (Drea de Matteo) and Nick (Jeffrey Nordling)
In with the old: Paul Young (Mark Moses)
In with the new: Vanessa Williams!
