Blanche's 'voice' to get airing

During a visit to Canada, actress Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald) told the Toronto Star: "The brilliant writers have found a very clever way of getting her voice into the episode - so enjoy her while she's still on-screen."

Actress Maggie Jones, who played Blanche, died in December last year, and her character's funeral will air next month.

Blanche was famed for her witty one-liners and sharp put-downs.

A Corrie spokeswoman explained that Ken Barlow (William Roache) will deliver a eulogy, in which he introduces what his acid-tongued mother-in-law would have said if she could be there.
