Walter Bishop: A Revelation
I love Pacey, I thought if anything I would stick out the first season for Joshua Jackson alone, but Walter Bishop just stole my heart and stole the shows. Given all the best one liners, John Noble plays Walter's character to perfection. I find my motivation to watch the show is based solely on Walter and his antics – more so than the story arc.
Speaking of the Story Arc
It's been an uneven start for Fringe, the story was muddled at first, but now it seems to be going in some direction. Let's hope that the writers gain more focus in the second half of the season.
Drab Dunham
Olivia Dunham has only become mildly interesting in the past few episodes. That's pretty sad seeing that not only does she have the memory imprints of her traitorous dead lover in her head, but she's also been recently abducted. You think those things would make her character compelling to watch, but Anna Torv's performance is so flat, I often pray for some sort of Sci Fi miracle where she grows a new face (I would forgive the writers for it's implausibility if the outcome was that we'd have a better actress).
The Observer…
Sure he's cool, bald and all observe-y but what else? I want them to focus more on this guy. I want there to be more interaction with him and the cast! Let's hope for more of that in the second half.
Peter Bishop
I won't say that this is Joshua Jackson's finest performance, but he is great. Read more

I agree with you on all counts. I so kept hoping that Olivia would get some spark but her dull as dishwater portrayal just makes me cringe. I also think Joshua Jackson is a bit of a letdown, I keep hoping for more... I don't see this show making it to a second season that's for sure. Alias had a phenomenal cast and all worked so well together, that is extremely lacking in Fringe, I like the story but the acting is poor.
