The first episode of the new season of The Next Food Network Star didn’t waste any time getting things started. Within 30 minutes of the finalists’ arrival, they were given their first challenge. They were divided into 2 teams, given $1200 and 5 hours to come up with a menu for Food Network’s 16th Birthday Celebration.
The teams were divided up by the judges, and Debbie and Brett were quick to step up as captain of each team. Brett managed to come in with all requested ingredients well under budget. Debbie was not so lucky and had to return many items in order to come in $1 under budget.
