Booth thrown a romantic Bone

How will the introduction of a new woman affect their relationship?

After years of Mulder and Scully-esque sexual tension between the main characters of Bones, Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) is to be introduced to a new love interest in the upcoming season of the series.

After a rendezvous with a journalist in Afghanistan, Booth heads back to Washington with his new filly in tow, to test the waters of their relationship out of the firing line.

This is sure to result in some interesting politics between Booth and Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel), with whom he has enjoyed a permanent state of on-off flirtation and sexual tension.

Although Brennan is said to give the relationship her blessing at the beginning of the new series, you can be certain that this won't last. If Booth is in a happy and settled relationship, where's the fun?!

if they get together it would kill the show, bones and angela together would spice it up a little.

I love this show and I can't wait until they finally put bones and booth together... But if they keep pushing them apart and playing games I will have to stop watching the show .... I mean seriously this is old already.... I hate it when they wait to put two people together until they are ready to end the show... like on friends ross and rachel finally end up together on the very last show of the series.... they will lose a fan if the creators of Bones don't get it together soon... 5 years was long enough to wait.

I agree with Ariadne000. Why not try giving them a relationship when they get back. Have them meet up at the Reflecting Pool and kiss, with them each realising that they can't live without each other. That's better than just showing the characters moving on, even though they're been separated for a year!!! It's ludicrous. Booth and Bones belong together, so why screw the audience around for another season, or half season or whatever.

It would have been refreshing if after stretching out the sexual tension for all it was worth (5 years) the story editors had opted for exploring a mature relationship between Bones and Booth. They both have enough psychological baggage that could have been explored in their deepened relationship with Sweets offering both comic and intellectual insights. It might have been amusing to have Bones and Booth hide their sexual relationship from their coworkers for half a season while they hashed out their couples issues. It would have been fun to see Booth giving Bones tips on how couples resolve petty disagreements...or to explore how their being a couple affects they way they face dangerous situations...or to see how Bones would fare trying to bond with Parker...there are a million possibilities that would have been good subplots to the mysteries they had to solve together. All would have been fresher than the overworked "you rejected me so I'm going to fling my new love in your face" scenario.moreless

This is the same dynamic that killed Crossing Jordan. This program has ripped off the GOOD features of Crossing Jordan shamelessly (and doing it better), but now it has made the mistake of ripping off the strained hackneyed plot devices that caused Crossing Jordan to go into a death spiral. Good ripoffs: Bones's mother murdered in childhood, difficult relationship with father who has a shady past, partnership/sexual tension with a law enforcement official, Woody/Booth both have younger brothers they have to get out of trouble and who finally draw the line, geeky lab geniuses who add humor and romantic subplots. Bad ripoffs...Woody/Booth have health crises (Woody gets shot/Booth gets Jordan's tumor) that cause a change in the relationship, declaration of love followed by rejection, Woody/Booth "move on" and start other love interests. After dragging out the sexual tension for five years, it's an insult to viewers to go with the formulaic plot device of bringing in another woman to make Jordan/Bones jealous. The high-school like tensions that this will inevitably cause in the plotlines will once again turn off loyal viewers who think they deserve more than cheesy tired tricks. Bones was shamelessly ripping off Crossing Jordan but at least doing it better for a time. Now they've fallen into the same pit that turned off disgusted viewers and got Crossing Jordan cancelled. I was hoping this show would avoid the pitfall.moreless

Well isn't this nice, the same old bull. What's the matter writers, don't you have any imagination left, after 5 yeats and 1 year waiting, is this all you can come up with. Shame on you, it's pretty disgusting if you ask me.
