Boston Legal, the
David E. Kelley legal
drama that was moved off the schedule in order to try out surprise hit
Grey's Anatomy,
will return in the fall with several cast additions.
Julie Bowen, previously seen on Jake in Progress and Ed, will play Denise Bauer, a tough senior associate who won't let a messy personal life keep her from making partner. Justin Mentell will play Garrett Wells, an ambitious lawyer who needs to dial down the intensity, and Ryan Michelle Bathe , from ER, will portray junior associate Sara Holt, who graduated first in her class but has trouble applying books smarts to the real world of courtroom law. She should have watched last season's Apprentice.
Returning to the show will be James Spader, William Shatner, and Candice Bergen. It is unclear if Lake Bell will return, as she is appearing on NBC's underwater sci-fi drama Surface.

I think James Spader is one of the finest subtle actors on tv today. I wish I had an Alan Shore.
James Spader will prove once again this season, that he can not act. And do I even need to mention Shatner. This show makes me want to repeatedly bang my head up against the wall.
I think losing Monica Potter and Rhona Mitra is the dumbest thing these guys could have done! The show was WORKING! Why shuffle things around (so drastically I might add) when you have something good going. WE barely knew these characters. It was clear that Monica's character had quite a few issues that she was on the verge of airing. I'm disappointed thoroughly
It's a disgusting show! Why does the blonde lawyer have to be so easy?
hire me, hire me!
Damn. Rhona was my favorite character on the show.<br />

This kinda reeks.
Well remember they will be in the leftover eps from last season...so maybe it will all be shown in those eps...and they can be edited to make it work too.
I don't see the appeal of Julie Bowen and don't get why she's shoehorned into every show. She must have a great agent!!
I agree I wont really miss Monica Potter but Rhona I will miss...
Rhona is the one I'll miss the most. Even though they started misusing her character as soon as she hooked-up with Alan. At least she'll still be on a few of the leftover episodes from season one. But I guess the show will still work as long as they have Shatner and Spader but they need to figure out what works and settle on a cast because it's too early to play musical chairs with the actors a'la "Ally McBeal".
Boston Legal is my favorite program currently running. Spader and Shatner are great together. I agree with their cast changes Potter couldn't act, and after Rhonda Mitra got tired of Spader's character there was nothing left for her to do either.
Lake Bell already left the show at episode 13, didn't she? And did I read clearly that Rhona Mitra and Monica Potter are gone?? What about Mark Valley?
