Breaking Bad: Watch the Alternate "Walter in the Middle" Ending (VIDEO)

Going into the final season of Breaking Bad, one of the funnier predictions to hit the internet was that the series finale would reveal that Breaking Bad was a prequel of Bryan Cranston's other TV series, Malcolm in the Middle, with Malcolm taking place after Walter White entered the Witness Protection Program and retired as a sitcom dad. The idea even blew Keanu's mind

Well, the jokesters behind the special features section of the Breaking Bad Complete Series DVD set took inspiration from that idea, and pulled off a nifty little gag: What if the entirety of Breaking Bad was a dream of Hal's? The three-minute video features all sorts of Breaking Bad call-outs, including one disturbing moment from the series premiere.

There was also a Season 5b gag reel floating around the internet this morning, but Sony TV took it down because they don't want us to have any fun and I guess they don't want to promote the Breaking Bad Complete Series DVD set that comes out on November 26. Have I mentioned that it's in the shape of a methylene barrel and includes a Los Pollos Hermanos apron? There, Sony TV, that wasn't too hard, was it? (If anyone finds a working copy of the gag reel, let us know!)

It's great and all, but it just makes me remember how mad I am that we still don't have a Malcolm in the Middle DVD release. (OTHER than season 1.)

Not bad, but not great. Shame the gag reel was taken down. Sony are a bunch of pussies, pardon my French.

Why am I not surprised - Tim reposting something that was in the Breaking Bad community YESTERDAY - and it was posted by another member of staff!
The fact that it was also promoted to the f*cking homepage as well made no difference either

I'd like to thank Patsully for originally posting it and all the other related videos in its comments section.

I'd also like Tim to pay attention to the f*cking community pages on this site!

We've discussed via PM, but there are a few reasons why we re-posted the video. Primarily, it was the result of the previous embed being unavailable, but we also wanted to add original commentary to the post. If anyone else has questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me.

FYI, this is a riff on the final scene of "Newhart."

FYI most people who watch television know that. I've never seen an episode of Newhart and I know that.

I love actors (and producers who make it possible) who do not take themselves too serious to make jokes about their own creations. It adds to the joy of watching.

You know Bryan Cranston's a total Steely Dan nut right? Well in MITM he told how he'd once been a pirate radio dj and his handle was Kid Charlemagne, the SD song is about an acid cook in 1960s SF. Go to YT, search on steelydan/breaking bad to check out my fan boy tribute, whhich is now, gawd help me over 3 years old! Did anyone see where the time went? I just saw it go out the door...
