Green replaces Murray.
Changes are afoot at One Tree Hill--major changes. Fans of the show screamed in unison when it was announced that leads Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton would be departing the drama (The CW says they tried to keep them on, Murray insists they were let go). But producers are filling the void with another actor with the same pedigree.
Brian Austin Green is currently talking to One Tree Hill's people about joining the show as a regular, says The Hollywood Reporter. He would star as the previously announced sports agent to basketball star Nathan Scott, "while also enjoying the spoils that come from being a wealthy, handsome single guy."
This news will either make One Tree Hill faithful elated or ticked off. Murray claims he was ousted over budgetary concerns (The CW says it "tried" to keep him and Burton on), and Green--fresh off Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles--likely doesn't come cheap.
Green was previously attached to another CW show, the pilot Body Politic co-starring Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly. It was thought to have a chance as a midseason show, but news of Green heading to One Tree Hill doesn't bode well for its future.
Okay One Tree Hill fans--I'm curious what you think of this news. Does it make up for CMM and Burton leaving? Or does it just make the whole thing worse?

no it doesnt make up for lucas and peyton leaving they are my favorite charactors on the show and i agree with lasonta...personaly i think its not the same with out them ive seen all the shows with peyton and lucas and some of the new ones but its not the same thier love .. cuting them is a horrible idea and they should be brought back i think chad and hailarie are the show
come on there is no one tree hill without the Peyton & Lucas drama. seriously this show will definitely be canceled now cause i for one am not sure i want to watch it now i have heard this news. i can recall quite a few shows that as soon as they cut one of the regulars the show was canceled by the following season so how can they cut two. this just blows. horrible idea.
as long as Julian is still on I'll watch. If he's not I'll watch it eventually but it won't be high on my list of priorities. i did love Brian Austin Green in Terminator, and I didn't particularly like CMM but the Leyton thing was a big part of the show. So i guess I'll see what it's like when it comes back.

This sucks I mean this really sucks they can't replace him. I mean the show is going to canceled if they do that. If they do get rid of Luke I hope they don't kill him. I mean if Murray and Burton are both leaving there characters are probably going to move away to a new place. Cuase then he can do guest spots on the show.

I don't really know how I feel about this! I was losing interest in Lucas and Peyton's storylines and I love love love Brian Austin Green in BH 90210 so as long as they can make the storylines interesting, I am all for it!I really do love Brooke and Julian and even though Nathan & Haley have gotten frighteningly boring these past 2 seasons, I'm sure they can come up with enough drama for one more season... and this season will hopefully be better than Season 6! I've been hearing that they're going to have a number of new characters brought into the show (including Brian Austin Green's character) and I'm thinking (or hoping...) that that will be just what the show needs to spice things up again! While the series may really be over after this season, I don't think it'll be any worse than the last season. Ha.moreless
I'm not shure how I feel about this, I'll miss CMM.
I have nothing against Brian Austin Green, in fact I wish Terminator, the Sarah Connor Chronicles, had not been canceled. However, no new characters can replace CMM or Hilarie Burton (i.e. Lucas Scott and Peyton Sawyer Scott) in the One Tree Hill story line. Without these two actors, OTH is just an "empty shell" of the show which I loved for seasons 1-6. OTH is told through the "eyes" of Lucas Scott. How can you replace that "perspective"? Peyton is Lucas' "muse", now his wife, and the mother of his new daughter, Sawyer Brooke Scott. How do you replace the story line around Peyton? Where do Haley and Mia go from here? Who coaches the Tree Hill Ravens? Why is there any need to have "music" as a basic component of OTH if the "music producer", Peyton, is not present? Nothing can replace the Lucas-Peyton "story line". They are "integral" to the continuity and "rationality" of everything that existed on OTH up through season 6. Please bring Lucas (CMM) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) back, regardless of the "cost", if you want OTH to "succeed" in season 7 (and beyond?).moreless

With so many and many people loosing their jobs, i cannot understand how two people that before one tree hill were very unkown for most of people could have so much ego and throw away so great job in such an amazing tv show and i cannot understand either why most of the fans of this show are so mad with the production of this show;when they ofer an increase in the salary of Chad and Hilarie.Such an incredible world.
I was getting SO tired of Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton.. I'm glad the show is going forward though! We'll have to wait and see if it'll work without them! But anyway, it's not a question of replacing someone...
Wow, I don't mind at all if he would join the One Tree Hill cast!! He will never replace Chad Michael Murray, but he will be a nice addition to the remaining cast.
I don't even know this actor, and as many says: No one what so ever, can't replace CMM and HB!
I love BAG and I didn't realize how much cuter he has gotten since his 90210 days until just now when I saw his pic (and WOW!) but BAG can't replace HB and CMM. Though BAG is a bigger name in Hollywood, to OTH fans HB and CMM are like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie- they're the main couple. BAG would be a great addition to the show. I see him as playing a sports agent perfectly. But............... there's no way this show can last. I love OTH more than any other TV show but with the lose of both the narrator and his love interest-as well as one of the best female leads on TV (IMO)- the show will surely end either half way through the season or if their lucky at the end of the season. Sorry OTH but...

This is Bad. Does no one remember that most of the time Lucas played by Chad Michael Murray is the narrator of OTH? Where will that leave the tale if ever since the beginning its been his story to tell? Taking out main characters in a show always comes with a sharp pain to the back; take "Charmed" for instance (Pru replaced by suddenly discovered sister Paige), or even "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" did a fast change replacing Tara with Kennedy (not sure if this worked), on "Angel" the character Wesley came to the cast after Doyle died (fans did not like that very much for a while), they substituted Katie Cassidy for Genevieve Cortese as Ruby in "Supernatural" (the character moved from a sassy "don't take crap" attitude to an almost wooden Ruby who is afraid of her own shadow), they wanted to replace Eric from "That 70s Show" with Randy but brutal responses from the fans cause them to right that wrong very quickly (Randy barely showed his face in the finale), "Lost" have Nikki and Paulo (totally unnecessarily there, fans helped to get the annoying duo out), Oliver on the "OC" (the writers totally missed the mark here "Air Ball!!"), in "Veronica Mars" after the worry about ratings, the character "Piz" was born, the annoying, not at all funny idiot Piz (in my opinion totally ruined the show for good), and finally let us not forget "Alias" and the ever revolving door of female characters in season 3,4, and 5 (like watching a bad audition tape for a character & actress that could not be replaced) after ruining the final seasons of "Alias" we thank them for the misery of their characters birth. So please rethink this choice, abrupt changes to storyline causes massive fan lost. You can not replace Murray and Burton and expect it to go well. Not if you take the above ruins into consideration.moreless

One Tree Hill is my favorite show. I have loved this show since 2003 when the 1st episode aired and I have to say the season finale was the show finale! Everyone was happy, Peyton & Lucas finally have happy ending; Nathan plays for the NBA; Brooke finally gets her OWN man; and Mouth gets the girl. Nobody likes Dan and he will die alone. If they take main characters from the show add new ones with crazy/boring storylines the true fans won't care. We have grown to love all the characters there now and won't have time to care about the new ones. It's true that Peyton and Lucas was getting old-we all screamed at our tvs for more than 3 seasons, "Just get together already!" But now that they are and have a baby, lets see how their lives are now. We got to see Naley with their family and we are being cheated from Lucas & Peyton & baby Sawyer! I just hope the show can survive! If not seasons 1-6 were great and will be re-watched on SoapNet and my DVD collection :)moreless
Well this doesn't go well with the narrative of this show. the whole thing was started because of CMM.He was the catalyst. I think with his absence i definitely will not enjoy the show as much, Hilary as well added a special element to the show which no other female character can fill. i'm not opposed to adding new characters but losing the leads of this show is ridiculous.
I don't know how the show can survive without the characters around which the entire story is based. However, their storyline had truly been exhausted, so either the show will now die a death (as it soon inevitably would have), or will thrive as a result of new blood and the possibilities of fresh storylines. I just hope they will step up the pace of the show though, as every episode is so long-winded - it's like pulling teeth!
I think it´s gonna be great for the show;however i don´t think he (Brian Austin Green)replace Chad Michael Murray.I think this new season it´s gonna be more like a spinoff One tree hill.But the most important think are the storylines,i think if this show continue having great storylines the viewers will be still watching the show.It´s such a shame that to main characters that before one tree hill;were very unkown for most of the people ,right now are having so big ego to still in the show.I hope they change their minds for the best of this awesome show and for the careers of these great actors (Chad Michael Murray and Hillary Burton) before it´s to late.Example look Misha Barton she left The O.C;one year later the show was cancel and Mischa Barton had no place in other show or movie what´s so ever.moreless
this is ridiculous- hilarie wanted to leave, which is fine, but they are stupid to let chad go being that the show was created to center around him. I would not care how much it costs to keep him on the show- he is the main character so they are gonna lose a ton of money when it gets canceled! Dumb move CW and OTH creators- really stupid of you!!!

i think this just proves that CMM was kicked out, since Brian is not a cheap actor..and even though i did not like that lucas and peyton ended up together, nothing will replace them
It doesn't make up for anything, nor does it make any sense cause BAG is obviously not a "cheap" actor. I think it sucks big time CMM and HB won't be on the show anymore, nobody can replace them, they're such a big part of it!
No, it doesn't make up for two of the main characters (and my two favorites) leaving... and nothing will make up for a pointless season. I don't think many people want to watch this show being driven into the ground.
I am not a teenager, but have watched the show since it's inception. I think that it portraits up to date scenarios and has realistist results, for the most part. It is Hollywood however and people must move on. Hooray for Brian Austin Green for getting back into the spotlight and let's hope that he can be as good as his "David" character in 90210...

There is no show without Lucas Scott(CMM). The show will not last another season without him. I will no longer be tuning in to watch. What's the point! No Lucas or Peyton..... NO SHOW!!!!!

He is good looking. But i dont think he can replace CMM. He will not be able to save the show alone. He might help it a bit but fans know who they like. Just like when luke and peyton got together brucas fans didnt like it same goes for leyton fans since they left. I am not a leyton fan only cmm But there is nobody that can replace them.
