Brian McFadden to co-host Australia's Got Talent
Former Westlife singer and Football Superstar host joins Kyle Sandilands and Dannii Minogue.
It's official. Brian McFadden will join Kyle Sandilands and Dannii Minogue as the new third judge on Australia's Got Talent.
The former Westlife singer had been rumoured to be joining the show, which is having a makeover for the 2010 season.
An expectant Minogue will see her two new sidekicks replacing Tom Burlinson and Red Symons, who is now free to return to Hey Hey it's Saturday for Red Faces.
Seven's talent show, now entering its fourth season, is certainly turning up the heat. With the hiring of Sandilands and the dumping of Burlinson, the show is shifting tone from being a genial, family talent show to a take-no-prisoners contest.
Buoyed by the discovery of Susan Boyle from Britain's Got Talent already the show is seeing a broad pool of singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and performing troupes fronting at early auditions. The show has no boundaries on age or diversity of acts.
McFadden comes to the show following a guest stint on Australian Idol, where partner Delta Goodrem also appeared. His friendship with Sandilands will no doubt lead to some on-screen chemistry.
"I am beyond excited to be joining Channel 7 and Australia's Got Talent -- I have always been a massive fan of the show and am looking forward to sitting alongside my respected friends and peers Dannii and Kyle," he said.
McFadden's biggest role on Australian TV has been the two series of FOX8 reality series Football Superstar which is returning mid-2010, but the hosts are yet to be confirmed.
He is also known for giving media comments that are sometimes shooting from the hip, including when he said of his second Football Superstar co-host "this one's got a brain". In 2008, he told New Zealand radio hosts, "If you are not gay, a man should not be wearing pink." Local gay groups were outraged by the remark.
With Sandilands and McFadden both on board for Australia's Got Talent, it could be up to Dannii Minogue to become the show's nice judge.
Meanwhile, a cloud still hands over the future of Australian Idol with neither TEN nor FremantleMedia confirming or denying its status for 2010.
No doubt Seven's show, again hosted by Grant Denyer, is ready to take its place when the show returns soon.

I like McFadden but I dont think even he will be enough to get me to watch that show. I would like to see him back on football superstar
