Buffy the Vampire Slayer may be approaching its fifth year off the air (has it been that long already?), but the gusto of its fans has done anything but fade to black.
Those fans who live in Southern California will be overjoyed to know this: The cast is reuniting for a special appearance at this year's William S. Paley Television Festival, according to Variety. The annual show celebrates all things television, and takes place this year from March 14-27 in Hollywood's famous Cinerama Dome.
The exact details of the Buffy reunion have not yet been disclosed. Other shows reportedly on tap for PaleyFest are Golden Globe-winner Mad Men, Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Gossip Girl, and Dancing With the Stars, as well as "An Evening with Judd Apatow," the man behind Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, as well as seminal (and underappreciated) shows Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared.
The full lineup of events will be posted on the festival's Web Site on February 4, with tickets going on sale on February 7 for members and February 10 for nonmembers.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is goin and i think people that think she is too snobby to make an appearance shud back off. Its her life and im sure she loves Buffy.
To answer someone that said if there was going to be a season 8 they would buy it...well get your money out as the 8th season is currently running.....in comic book form only. they are up to episode 11 already and yes Joss Whedon is writing it!!
Most of BTVS's stars go to these sorts of things. Theres a similar sort of thing in the UK at MK and lots of the cast have been to it.

But I reckon if so many of the cast have been over here for it, there should be a fair few that show up in CA in March. =)
Buffy, Tara, Xander, Anya, Faith, Dawn, Oz and Spike have confirmed that they'll be making an appearance anyways.

SMG seems to be changing her attitude, from things I've read recently. Her current film opportunities are apparently something of a disappointment to her, so she might well return to TV. She has reportedly been putting out feelers lately, so her appearance at Paleyfest isn't at all out of the question. It's been long enough since BTVS ended that she might be getting nostalgic for what were, after all, her glory days. Reminding the TV industry of her crowning accomplishment might be the best career move she could make right now.
I love buffy i have all the seasons:)and if theres gonna be a season 8 then im buying it if its bad or not.i love the showi was really sad when the show went off the airbut i bought all seasons so its oki watch them over and over again and i still dont get tired of them.Cant wait till it comes out.

I could see any of the cast showing up, except SMG. I've been disappointed in her attempts to distance herself from the show that basically made her a star. As much as I liked her as Buffy, I've never gone out of my way to see her in anything since. I think one reason her career hasn't been all that stellar since leaving Buffy is because of her negative attitude towards the show and the fans. Had she been gracious, say...like Jennifer Garner has always been about Alias and its fans, I think she'd be doing much better now. And yes, I DO go out of my way to support Garner's movies. :)
I gotta jump on and defend SMG here. She loved Buffy and, yeah, she might not show (although she IS in New York at the moment and only a cheap flight away *cough* Sarah *cough*), but let's face it - the show has been off the air for five years almost and she has a really good career going, so why would she wanna do the whole Buffy press junket again? All of you bitter fans who cant stand Sarah need to get over yerself. You all moan about her not possibly showing up and yet I'd bet she wasnt even yer fav character, anyways. So why bother?!!:roll:I'm just happy to see Buffy...I mean, er, Sarah (:P) anywhere i can, either through repeats or new films. Just pisses me off when people bemoan Sarah's lack of commitment to a dead project that expired five years agao and yet if Alyson didnt show fans would prob excuse that fact cause she's a saint or whatever.'Fraid not. The only reason these actors are doing it right now is due to the writers strike. They have time. Big woopdyfreekindoo. The only thing that would be good about the cast getting back together would be if it was in a movie or mini-series. But in a local event? Albeit a rather large event, from what i gather, but local event just the same.
I assume that Joss Whedon will also make an appearance.
Wow, I'd love to see the whole cast reunited but as others have said I doubt everyone will be able to make it for various reasons.

SMG got kinda snobby about the show so I would be surprised if she shows. Nicholas Brendan, Alyson Hannigan, James Marsters, Michelle Tractenberg will probably show. Hopefully David Boreanaz will show and ASH that would be great, Seth Green too.
I think nearly every main (inc. Dushku and Benson) will definitely appear, but the following I'm not sure if they will be 100%: SMG, Anthony Stewart Head, David Boreanaz and Seth Green. Only because they all are working on things at the moment. I find it funny that no one has mentioned Marc Blucas (Riley) yet :P.

Ok Tim, this is an easy one. Who do I hope shows up? Everybody! The entire regular cast and recurring cast. Who do I think will show up? The usual suspects, including Nicholas Brendan, Alyson Hannigan, James Marsters, Emma Caulfield, and Michelle Trachtenburg. Sarah Michelle Gellar has never been that available to that fans, so I doubt if she'll make an appearance. David Boreanaz would be a great surprise, but I doubt Anthony Stewart Head will make the trek from the UK. I'd love to see Seth Green there.
