Cariba Heine is A Model Daughter

A Model Daughter: The Killing of Caroline Byrne, a new Australian telemovie on the 1995 death of Caroline Byrne will hit our screens next month, with Blue Water High's Cariba Heine in the title role.

Heine, who also appeared in H20: Just Add Water, will play the 24-year-old model whose mysterious death left her father angered and determined to seek justice.

In the role of Tony Byrne is esteemed Australian actor Garry McDonald (Mother and Son, The King). His belief that his daughter was murdered by her boyfriend, Gordon Wood, helped keep a police investigation open.

Thirteen years later Wood was convicted of her murder.

In the role of Wood, who was also a chauffeur to the late stockbroker Rene Rivkin, is actor David Lyons (Sea Patrol, ER, Blue Heelers). Tiriel Mora (Frontline (Australia), The Castle) will play Rivkin, while Gyton Grantley (Underbelly, East West 101) will also appear.

The telemovie has been put together by some of the team behind Underbelly and The Society Murders.

TEN is very busy in the drama telemovie department at the moment. It has two others in production.

One is Hawke, with Richard Roxburgh (East of Everything) playing a "warts and all" look at the former Australian Prime Minister. Rachael Blake appears as former wife Hazel Hawke. Felix Williamson will play Paul Keating. Asher Keddie (Love My Way, Rush) will play Hawke's present partner, Blanche d'Alpuget.

The other is Offspring, also starring Asher Keddie, in the story of the impossible loves of 30-something obstetrician Nina Proudman, and her "fabulously messy family".

Produced by the team behind Tangle it will also star Kat Stewart (Underbelly, Tangle, 30 Seconds) and Don Hany (East West 101, Underbelly).

A Model Daughter: The Killing of Caroline Byrne will screen at 8:30pm Wednesday, November 4th on TEN.
