The apocalypse is officially upon us! Last week, television viewers all over the world let out a collective groan (actually, more likely some combination of expletives) when word spread about an upcoming guest appearance by Paris Hilton on the one-hour return of My Name is Earl.
Prepare to soap out your mouths, faithful television lovers. The oft-troubled Britney Spears is scheduled to guest star on CBS's How I Met Your Mother, according to celeb-stalking Web site Pink is the New Blog. For those who don't trust Web sites with poorly Photoshopped pictures with scribbled notes on them, the information has also been confirmed by TVGuide.com.
There's little information available other than the fact that Spears' character would have the most scenes with actor Josh Radnor, who plays Ted Mosby on the show. The blog also states that Spears' character could become a recurring character.
Elsewhere in casting land, Mila Kunis (That '70s Show's Jackie and the voice of Family Guy's Meg) will be part of the big-screen adaptation of the video game Max Payne, says The Hollywood Reporter. Kunis will star opposite Mark Wahlberg as an assassin in the film, which is about a cop who loses his family and becomes involved in a complex conspiracy.
Other notable casting announcements include Josh Cooke (Big Day, Committed) joining the pilot My Best Friend's Girl for CBS, Erinn Hayes (The Winner) has been added to Worst Week, and young actress Kay Panabaker has landed a role in the comedy Zip.

I'm longing to see Britney, I've always love her.
Special guest star Britney Spears=Jump the Shark
No no NOOOO, I´m sick and tired of Britney Spears!!
Haven't the power that be in Hollywood realized that Brittney CAN"T ACT. Look at the Will and Grace she did or the god awful movie Crossroads. Mila is great though, if you don't think she can pull off drama look at the Angelina Jollie movie Gia. where she plays the young Gia.
I love how Alicia Silverstone quit as a guest star after finding this out!
That's awesome! HIMYM is great and I'm Britney will be really funny on it. She was great on Will & Grace, and the producer of HIMYM has already said that she was at a read through with the rest of the cast and that she was "really funny and professional" and got along with everyone. I'm sure it'll be one of the best episodes
Are you kidding? I think this might be something like 'jump the Britney', er I mean Jump the Shark. I guess HIMYM must think they aren't going to be renewed.
Can't say I look foreward to Britney on HIMYM but who knows... maybe she'll suprise me?
god save us from britney and paris :\
Paris and Brittney will just not go away.
Mila Kunis on the other hand, hope she does exceedingly well.
mh, ok.
glad they mentioned kay, as she is the only actress mentioned (other than mila kunis, but i have no idea what max payne is) that i care about. she was great in everything i've seen her in and I haven't seen her in much stuff recently, after a let down in weeds through underused character.
cant wait love to see what brit will do now
I love Max Payne. Hopefully they will be able to keep the style of the detective noir story. Not so sure about the casting though, but I will only judge after I've seen something of it.
I can't see Mila playing a serious role. Especially in something as dark and gritty as Max Payne. I'm really interested in this now.
Paris and Britney, what's happening with tv?
Max Payne is swell. Wonder if he will have bullet time.
Paris ugh. Britney, wanna see her succeed. Mila Kunis, yey! Max Payne, blah!
Mila isn't going to play Wahlberg's love interest is she? Cause I don't think I could take that very seriously.
Can't wait for the Max Payne movie. Sounds interesting.
Love Britney!!!!!!!
