FX's Damages certainly is attracting some big-name talent--and not the big-name types that have guest-starred on My Name is Earl, Ugly Betty, and How I Met Your Mother. We're talking real actors.
Oscar winner Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction) stars in the drama as Patty Hewes, a cold-blooded litigation lawyer who makes even other lawyers shake in their wingtips. Last season, TV legend and two-time Emmy-winner Ted Danson (Cheers, Becker) played a season-long character arc on the show as Arthur Frobisher.
Now the show is bringing on another trophy winner to bolster its cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter. William Hurt will be Hewes' main client in the upcoming season, which is scheduled to air in early 2009.
Hurt won a Best Actor Oscar for his performance in 1985's Kiss of the Spider Woman, and has acted alongside Close before in The Big Chill.
The small-screen spin-off of Oscar winner Crash has lined up more members of its cast. D.B. Sweeney (Jericho, The Cutting Edge) headlines the latest additions, which also include Nick Tarabay (The Sopranos) and Michael Fairman (L.A. Law). Crash is the first original drama for Starz and will also feature two-time Oscar nominee Dennis Hopper.
ER is freshening up for its 15th and final season by injecting some fresh blood into its cast, according to the Reporter. Producers have added a quartet of young actors, Shiri Appleby, Julian Morris, Emily Rose, and Victor Rasuk, to play interns next season.
