Cast updates: Match Game, Gossip Girl

One of the things that made the celeb-studded classic The Match Game so darned entertaining was its propensity for being raunchy. So when TBS announced that it was making a contemporary version of the show, it knew it had to get some potty-mouthed comics on its celebrity panels.

Well they're clearly on the right track. Sarah Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Show) and Norm Macdonald (Saturday Night Live) have signed on to be on the Match Game pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Both comics are known for their off-color pasts, delivering politically incorrect barbs as part of their acts. The two will join Super Dave Osborne, The Kids in the Hall's Scott Thompson, The Office's Rashida Jones, and Reno 911's Niecy Nash.

Amick is joining the cast as "a sizzling cougar named Catherine Mason," according to EW.com. The site says that Catherine may play Mrs. Robinson to Chace Crawford's Nate, tempting him as the fetching older woman.

Elsewhere, former Women's Murder Club actress Ever Carradine is joining Sci Fi's Eureka, The West Wing's Janel Moloney has been added to ABC's Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas, and Viva Laughlin's Lloyd Owen will star in the Fox pilot Inseperable.

My daughter and I watch Match Game a lot in the summer when there is much else on. I loved it as a kid and am loving it again. I think the star studded it a little tongue in check but they Johnny Olson says it at the beginning of the show back then so I think they are playing off that.

I loved Match Game, never considered it a star-studded show though. It'll depend on the host if that one lasts.

I hope that they won't be all and all out vulgar on Match Game as they were on the 98 version. That's what killed it, every third question was a Bill Clinton third leg question in which panelests such as Judy Tenuda would cheerfully say the p word as an answer. The key to the original Match Game's success was not in being vulgar, but in being suggestive and let the audience's imagination fill in the dirty word.

It's definitely not a star-studded Match Game, but if Norm's in it, so I'll give an effort to check it out.

Man, Amick's doing both GGs! Gilmore Girls as Sherry and now Gossip Girl as who knows! If only she was on Golden Girls then she would've been on all 3 GGs. Too bad.

I think it would be kinda weird to see nate with her, he and serena looked like they were going to hit it off at the season finale

And I don't even like Madchen anyway, she was a bit*h (the character) at Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls, I hope she doesn't ruin Gossip Girl too
