NBC's Heroes has, at times, padded its cast with enough characters that it can be a challenge to remember which one is a human bomb, which one has built-in Wi-Fi, and which one can shoot electricity out of her fingertips. OK, everyone knows that that last one is the darling and irresistible Kristen Bell.
Heroes has made good use of using both recognizable faces and newcomers, Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame being the best example of the former. Now, the show is adding another familiar actor--and he's also a Veronica vet.
TVGuide.com reports that Francis Capra is joining NBC's superhero smash next season, reuniting him in front of the lens with Bell. The 25-year-old Bronx native played Eli "Weevil" Navarro in Veronica Mars and was also in Friday Night Lights and Crank.
In Heroes, Capra will play a villain named Jesse who ends up tangling with Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia).
Former Joan of Arcadia star Amber Tamblyn is returning to television, says The Hollywood Reporter. Tamblyn has landed the lead in ABC's The Unusuals, a drama about the NYPD. She'll play Casey Shraeger, a detective who shuns her wealthy lineage to clean up the mean streets of The Big Apple.
Also calling new shows home is Morris Chestnut (who will always be Ice Cube's brother in Boyz n the Hood to me), who will star in ABC's The Prince of Motor City, and WWE fan fantasy Stacy Keibler, who will join ABC Family's Samurai Girl.

Awesome! About time we saw Francis Capra's face on t.v. again. I always loved him in Veronica Mars with Bell....and with Milo Ventimiglia in Heroes...this is gonna be an awesome season. All we need now is someone from Gilmore Girls and we'll really have WB and UPN stars going to NBC!

That pisses me off when the creators of a show don't want to have to pay the actors more when the show takes off but still want to keep the show going because it's a good concept and they want the money from it's sucess. They try to use the "revolving door" crap and say that actors will be on and off the show so don't get attached, like on "Law & Order". 75% of the reason a show is good is because of the cast. Who the h*ll would watch "House" if Tom Arnold was Dr. House, nobody that's who. The show would not survive without the cast that it has now and the show would not survive without the concept that it has now. I wish the morons who run Hollywood realize that before it's too late. As to Francis Capra joining the cast, if he's as good as Ms. Bell is then bring him on.moreless

Awesome Amber Tamblyn is getting a new tv show. I can't wait to watch the Unusuals. And if this series happens to be interesting and they choose to cancel it anyway ( I know I still haven't recovered from Joan of arcadia) I might sell my tv.

Well said, yet Mr. Kring doesn't seem to listen. He keeps adding more and more and more characters.
Tim Kring pointed out Heroes (like Lost) has a revolving door policy and we should not get too fond of our favourite hero/heroes. However saying that many, myself included, felt the the influx of too many new characters was partly to blame for the drop in quality of Season 2. Ok the writers strike/shorter season was the biggest problem but even so the new characters introduced didn't help matters. The familiar face from Alias wasn't in the same league as Sylar and Bell was adequate but thats about all you can say. Kring should concentrate on the familiar characters who we came to know and love in Season 1 as whether he likes it or not they are what made the show.
Meh, Heroes, I want Veronica Mars back. :-(
