NBC's Heroes likes what it sees from new cast member Robert Knepper, who plays the villain Samuel in the upcoming season of the superhero drama. The actor has been promoted to "series regular," which means we'll be seeing a lot more of the charismatic bad guy.
Knepper, best known for his role as T-Bag on Prison Break, was originally signed for six episodes of the upcoming season, but thanks to the promotion he may now appear in all of them -- and judging by the trailer below, that's a great thing. Samuel is described as an "Earth mover" and the leader of a carnival filled with super-powered heroes that have been hiding in plain sight.
Elsewhere, a casting conundrum has been solved over at CBS' Three Rivers. Four-time Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee Alfre Woodard has replaced Julia Ormond as the female lead on the medical drama. Ormond starred in the pilot, but CBS opted for a different direction and picked up Woodard.
Catching up on news out of Comic-Con, Lost star Dominic Monaghan has been added to the cast of ABC's FlashForward, one of the network's big sci-fi pushes for the fall. Also joining the roster is actress Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys II).
Finally, Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber (who played Apollo on the SyFy Channel hit) will reunite with former costar Tahmoh Penikett (Helo) on Fox's Dollhouse. Bamber, who is currently the lead in Law & Order: UK, will guest star in the season two premiere.
