Last night's episode of Castle was—to put it delicately—kinky. Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) investigated the murder of a woman who was doing sociological research on people with BDSM fetishes. On any other show, cliche sex jokes would run rampant. But on Castle, and with an actor like Nathan Fillion, you've got to believe that each raised eyebrow can be traced back to a darker, sillier, and more brilliant sense of humor. Here are our favorite gags, double entendres, and one-liners from Monday's episode, "The Mistress Always Spanks Twice."
1. Lanie Parish (Tamala Jones), looking over the caramel-covered corpse at the crime scene: "I can do the chocolate, I'll even do the whipped cream bikini, but caramel? I prefer slippery to sticky."
Castle: "Does she know we can hear her?"
2. Lady Irina (Dina Meyer), refusing to give up information about her clients: "I'm not about to betray the trust that they've paid for, because you have a hunch."
Beckett: "Oh, I think it's more than just a hunch."
Lady Irina: "Well, gee. I'm sorry, but unless you have a court order, my hands are tied, so to speak."
3. Beckett, deciding to interrogate Mr. Karouay (fetisher code name "Sam I Am") alone: "Castle, why don't you sit this one out. I think Mr. Karouay will respond better to a strong female hand."
Castle, to Esposito (Jon Huertas): "Sam I Am in a box with a fox? We're going to need some popcorn."
4. Beckett, examining the handcuffs on the corpse: "Bondage cuffs, custom made. Looks like our killer liked public play."
Castle: "How can you tell the difference betwen custom and regular?"
Beckett: "The leather is too high-quality to be mass-produced, and it's hand-stitched."
Castle: "No, I mean, how can you tell the difference?"
5. Castle: "Remember, my safe word is "apples."
6. Ryan, researching bondage sites with Esposito: "It's a little creepy doing this with you breathing down my neck."
Esposito: "Sorry, bro. I'd do it on mine, but IA checks browser history, so..."
Ryan: "Great, thanks."
7. Ryan, watching Castle run after Beckett: "Look at him following her. Who's whipped, me or him?"
Esposito: "You, bro. Hands down."
[Ryan receives a text message from his girlfriend.]
8. Sales Clerk, displaying a pair of leopard-print handcuffs: "If you're just looking to dip your toes in the water, these little guys are our best-sellers. Wanna give them a try?"
Beckett: "No, thanks, I've already got a pair of my own."
As for our favorite non-sex-related moments from "Mistress," we loved seeing guest star Keiko Agena (Gilmore Girls) on the small screen again and meeting Ryan's (Seamus Dever) girlfriend, Jenny, played by Dever's real wife, Juliana.

This show is getting better and better. I hope that ABC does not move it around.
Episode was funny, there's just something about leather. The show is a hoot, Nathan Fillion can land the one liners with the best of them and I will never get tired of watching Stana Katic.
This might just be the best episode of Castle ever.I think one of my favorite lines that wasn't mentioned here was when Castle asks Beckett "What aren't you telling me?" To which she replies "So much, Castle, so much." Great writing, great acting, great directing, great sets, great costumes. Not sure there's actually anything bad I can say about this episode.Although I do have to say "apples" is not a good safe word. A common safe word used is "banana" since it's still very much recognizable even with something large in your mouth.
Castle started as great TV and just gets better. Mistress was a really playful episode, I loved it. The only bad thing you hear about Castle in our house, the whole family watches, is that the hour flies by and that it could be on more often, like twice a week. ;-)
Loved it.
seemed more like a filler episode before the huge 2-part-er next time around. very entertaining though! classic castle humor.
Great episode! This show is getting better and better.
More and more entertaining with each episode, and the one-liners are worth waiting for each week. Last night was the best since the "ice-holes" line in The Fifth Bullet episode...
You didn't mention Brian Krakow! Devon Gummersall had a guest appearance too!!!
Good episode. And I'm glad we got to see Ryan's girlfriend.
I thought it was good. It was an interesting case and it was quite humorous. I loved seeing at the end that Ryan's girlfriend was real. Esposito and Castle were so shocked.
